I don't know what to make of this. But it feels a bit like the end of an era.
Feels like just another cycle where we have a bunch of great coaches who get to the mountain top and move on to bigger things.
Our roster the next 3 years is going to be as loaded as any roster we've ever had. No eras ending here.

Well they are the top 3 recruiters in the nation this year responsible for 20 of our top rated class, including your boy Wheaton who last I checked wasn't signed yet, so I imagine a little bit of consternation is allowed. So I reiterate, Sark can get bent for doing this to the man who saved his career not once but twice.

Bobby Burton is reporting Pete Golding is a "prime candidate" for Texas DC

Sooo, Golding is the only guy staying?
Not according to this:

Inside Texas has learned that Alabama DC Pete Golding has become prime candidate for same role at Texas. Others still in the mix.

I have no idea if that guy is credible at all though
ETA: Damn, SOG, beat me by that much

Is Greg Byrne working today? Start countering this crap from Texas.

Hope we give Vince Kehres a look if Petey moves on.

Yep. It'll probably frick our 2022 recruiting a bit, but the 2020 and 2021 classes are both totally stacked. Saban knows how to assemble a staff. We have done this before. We will probably have to do it again. It sucks and it gets old and frick Sark for not even showing a hint of professional courtesy to a guy who pulled his career off the trash heap, but we will survive and move on just like we have every other time.

Sark going to quickly burn bridges.

Well, BoB might be bringing in his own staff which may help. I would like to hold onto Wiggins especially with the news about Banks. I thought TW had said he would leave with Saban’s blessing which I don’t think he gives now. Huff May just be a “name” in the hat for Marshall (magilla). Scott will likely stay but who knows. Man, we need to see who is staying and leaving.
George is right though, we go through this every couple of years. We got a little lucky the last couple of seasons, but we have been here before. Saban will get the best coaches for the job.
Let’s just make sure no one takes any pictures of recruit boards.

I mean, I don't think we will win bidding wars with Texas. Apparently they are paying Banks $1M.

Sarks job is to assemble the best possible staff and set himself up for success and working with people he is familiar with is a good way to do that.
Saban / Alabama's job is to offer the coaches a reason / incentive to stay moreso than they would have if they leave. Its just the business and the way this shite works - you don't get to call dibs, gotta make it where Alabama is a better opportunity for them than Texas.
shite like taking a picture of the recruiting board and negative recruiting all the guys that Bama had a relationship with is where it steps into "frick that guy" territory for me.

Yeah, got to wonder what Sark is thinking. I get he is trying to build a staff, but it can definitely come back to bite you. You’d think he would have thought long and hard about raiding Saban’s staff.

I mean everybody? Cmon sark. This is a little ridiculous. Look elsewhere for somebody

Maybe not, but Alabama has enough money to at least push them a bit.

Saban has publicly stated that he’s not too pleased with assistants trying to poach half his staff when heading out the door.
Posted on 1/14/21 at 11:08 am to CapstoneGrad06
I'm sure he isn't but that doesn't mean that Sark is doing anything wrong.

Sark has already decided to retain UT's WR coach, so if Wiggins leaves it'll be to a different school. I'd be shocked if he didn't stay.

And I'm sure we are. It hasn't been reported that we are just sitting on our hands, so I don't think we should just assume we aren't doing what we can to keep guys. Sometimes coaches are ready to move on and sometimes you get outbid. That's the way it goes.

Is this the thread where we all get worried that coordinators are leaving? Even though it happens every year? And even though they are replaced with people who do just as good of a job and Alabama doesn’t miss a beat?
