It might surprise you to learn that outside of the South, people generally have more than just football to look forward to.
Yet here you are at 8 am on a Thursday with the rest of us

More ‘forms of entertainment’ in Colorado? Like what exactly? Legal recreational weed maybe.
I can do everything and then some in Alabama that people do in Colorado. I can fish for a wider variety of species by far. From rainbow trout in north Alabama to redfish and marlin on the coast. I can go to the beach in Alabama. I can go hike beautiful mountains in Alabama.
I have friends who are native Coloradoans in Wetumpka, Alabama, who moved here from Colorado in 2017 because they were looking for a better place to escape from the left-wing hell of Colorado. They are about to star in a new HGTV television show.

Genearally, states in that region have more forms of entertainment. Where as us southern folk don't have much else to look forward
I mean I guess they can go skiing when we can’t but we can also go to the beach which they can’t?

College football isn’t that popular outside of the South and Midwest (both broadly defined to include Texas and the Great Plains).
The Mountain West, Pacific West and Northeast really don’t care. Seems kind of alien and hard to understand for Southerners. From my experience in New England, most people save their fervor for the Red Sox, followed by the Patriots (distant second place).

Good thing half of the country lives in the broader South. It really doesn't matter what Seattle does. With the population shift, the sport will only grow. My neighbors are from NYC proper. They took to CFB quickly.

The OP stated CFB, so I was more referring to that.

Imagine that. A great life outside of watching spoiled brats play football. Athletes in early ages were the lowest of the low in intelligence.

The Broncos are way more popular than CFB

lived in phoenix for 6 years the reason that westerners don't care about college sports is that nobody that lives in the west grew up in the west most grew up in the midwest and in the northeastern corridor.
this manifest itself in a lot of odd outcomes, for instance the diamondbacks couldn't draw a crowd vs. the dodgers, but if the mets, dodgers, philly's, red sox's, cubs or white sox's come to town they'll sell out the stadium.
two of the largest nfl fan clubs in the nation are in phoenix, but they're for the steelers and the cheif's! my son's high school football fight song was "on wisconsin". portillo's is a chicago institution (i lived in chicagoland for 4 years) they're famous for the beef sandwiches, vienna beef hot dogs and maxwell street polish sausages. when i lived there they were the second largest privately held fast food chain behind only "in and out burger" they always resisted moving beyond illinois (quality concerns) now have 3 locations in phoenix and two in california and two in florida.
it's not that Coloradans don't care about football, they just don't care about Colorado football.
also the time difference has always been a problem for the pac12

Mesa Verde National Park, Royal Gorge, St. Elmo, Pikes Peak on the Cog Train, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock, Rocky Mt National Park, Vail, Aspen, etc, etc. Folks got stuff to do.
You don't see many Coloradans in several of these places, especially Mesa Verde. They're spots for visitors. Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods have the locals packed in like sardines, though.

And those Scandinavian's from WI/MN moving south are a miserable bunch. Us Anglo's have been dealing with these invading mofos for a few thousand years.

They don’t care as much about sports out west with so many other entertainment options and recreational activities but when I lived in Denver they absolutely supported the Broncos and CU had dog shite teams but the games would still draw close to 40,000 and those people really gave a shite about football.
