And we're back to the traditional Trump defense of "The things that the president says don't really matter. Who pays attention to that anyway?" (Except when he says something that later actually happens or works out well, in which case he was totally serious).

A few things he could have done differently:
1. Not sent his son-in-law in front of cameras to hype a website that had to be rewritten to cover his arse.

2. Not made false claims about the availability of testing.

3. Not been naive enough to claim that the government of communist China was being transparent.

4. Not used the word "hoax" in any context around a virus that has now killed over 110,000 Americans alone.

5. Actually practiced the things he's asked other people to do, like wearing a mask and practicing basic social distancing.

I could go on, but this is beating a dead horse as is.
