There's also a likely case in Cullman, but they apparently can't get a testing kit. Or that was what was reported yesterday around lunchtime.

I don't think there's really any question that it's in Alabama. It's just a matter of how extensive is it.

There's a rumor that a doctor in Huntsville may have it.
Huntsville is a very international travel-heavy city given NASA and Redstone Arsenal.

Most likely several people in Alabama have it, we (or they) don't know it yet.

Spoiler alert: there are probably tons of cases in Alabama, we just haven’t been testing enough people.

My wife was at doctor’s appt. today and he told her there were folks that probably have it at the office (which is a quite large one in a large Birmingham hospital), now - but they have no testing material.

He told her, and I’m paraphrasing: “Look, we are probably all gonna get it. If your healthy, you should be ok, but it will hurt quite a bit of the elderly and those with reduced immune systems (cancer patients, those on certain medicines, etc.).”

OT: Alabama Coronavirus Thread (157 confirmed cases in AL)

ADPH website still hasn't updated with this morning's numbers, and it's after 10AM. Not sure if there's anything to read in to that, but the anxious mind (such as mine) can make up all kinds of doom-and-gloom explanations, even while being aware that the more likely explanation is that the folks in charge of updating the site are just busy with other things, too.

If you had an MRI scheduled at UAB, considering the number of cases being treated there, would you cancel it? My 13 yr old daughter is scheduled for one there in early April.

Try to avoid grocery stores the first week in April. Montgomery has approved a plan to issue an additional 40 million dollars of food assistance to food stamp recipients over the next two months. The first issuance will be 4-1-20. The stores have been warned that they're going to be slammed.

Just saw that Joe Diffie died from complications with Corona Virus.

While he wasn't the picture of health, he was only 61.

He had a lot of fun songs in the 90s.

and RIP Mr. Pickup Man

Message to Mr. Ravens:

Do you want to start a thread on this board just about today's weather here in Alabama? Could end up (hopefully not) being an informative thread as the day progresses.
I'll do it, but I probably won't be able to update the OP often.
Let me know.
