I just went to the grocery store (10 AM on Friday morning) to do regular-people-grocery-shopping. I did not realize the panic had set in yet. Cleaning supplies are out. I got the last 12 pack of TP. Canned goods are thinning out. Cars are circling the parking lot looking for open spaces. Hey, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables though. What's it like in GA and other places?

Are normal people freaking out? I feel like this is getting blown way out of proportion.

Finley,

Nashville just got its first confirmed case yesterday, so that's why your stores are getting slammed today. Try to find a Kroger, they have put limits on things so people can't hoard.

I've got a shotgun, a rifle and a two wheel drive and a suburban boy can survive.

The neighborhood pond is chock full of crappie and catfish. Nesting geese too. Lots of squirrels around but the rabbit population is down due to the recent residency of a red fox. There's deer around too but I can't count on them, the Klopeks will likely get them first.

If more people get sick and they institute travel restrictions from Asia and Europe I may go to the masters every day this year. Prices are already dropping if they don’t let Asians over the ticket market will flood. Glorious.

My company had our annual international Sales & Operations conference coming up on the 15th in San Diego. Probably about 800-1000 people.

They just canceled the whole thing.

Folks go crazy in grocery stores when schools close bc their kids will eat at home instead of school for a week or two weeks, Some kids get breakfast and lunch from school so that’s a financial strain on their parents who now try and buy all the cheap cans of food.

Grocery stores should start stocking more cans in the back, any where they can bc it’s only a matter of time before each area has enough Covid cases to close schools.

Woodstock is doing ok. Bread was hard to come by last week. People stand in line for ground beef at our Publix. Costo is mostly just putting out whole cuts of beef. Topped up the brown liquor and now we're hunkered down.

This would be a good time to legalize weed.

Meanwhile,Sweden is open for business and taking a completely
different approach than almost any European country.

Gonna be interesting to see how they come out of this.

quote:

The strategy in Sweden is to focus on social distancing among the known risk groups, like the elderly. We try to use evidence-based measurements,” said Emma Frans, doctor in epidemiology at Karolinska Institute.
