I get the general premise of the three points, especially for WRs. I just know how difficult it is for a LB to have a RB in man coverage out of the backfield. You can very easily get caught leaning one way or flat footed.

Obviously you can’t do this on every play with a releasing RB, otherwise you’d have multiple receivers in the same areas and potentially bring a defender into a passing lane.

So the other interesting point to add in is how this is affected Malzahns well reported belief on execution that is basically 'better to do a few plays great than a lot of plays good'

From what I was told, Gus won't run a play unless he believes the O can perfectly execute it. As in, Gus won't run a passing concept like mesh out of new formations or with different personnel groups without extensive practice (Not really in season possible). This supposedly is why our player subs + formations sometimes tipoff defense
