I read an article from colts writer and former Auburn beat writer Joel Erickson on Braden Smith quickly picking up the NFL OL schemes despite where he went to college. That’s never a good look when we are trying to recruit OL.
It’s a very good read mainly because Joel knew Auburn very well and he was a fair writer then. He was actually the only writer that picked Auburn against Bama in 2013.

That article explains exactly my thoughts on why we aren’t getting top OL recruits. These guys want to play in the NFL. It doesn’t take long for recruits to learn where to go and where not to go. It is my opinion that this will be our issue we face year after year. Can we overcome that by bringing in a top OL coach? I don’t know?
