Like UNC a lot. Even though they were 2-10 last season, they were only blown out twice and competitive in every other game. Average margin of victory (loss) was less than 7 over their last six losses. Mack Brown should instill some excitement in the UNC fan base for at least this game against an opponent like SC.
You should definitely load up and get you some of that. Go for it.

Or you could lose. Don’t laugh. GSU best UF on their own field despite leaving 19 players - some who were starters- home in Statesboro for team rules violations.
It was not even one of the better GaSo teams either. Certainly nothing like the ones who won Nattys

You wanna see Boom give the look .... bring that game up at a Gamecock Club meeting.
That one obviously will haunt him the rest of his life.

If you would bother to open the Vegas Insider link I gave you then you would see the line is currently at -3. The OP used the opening lines from March rather than the current lines.

I’d take Vandy to keep it under 20.

That’s interesting it moved to -3. I would not bet on this game though. It’s two neurotic teams.

Your Oregon bettors jumped on the +6.5 very quickly. Took less than a week to go to +3. Was an Underdog Lock of the Week at +6.5.

GSU returns the least amount of players in the Sun Belt.
Only 18 teams in FBS return more production than does Georgia Southern. Troy, Arkansas State, and South Alabama in the Sun Belt return fewer starters than does GSU.

And your comment claimed the line had actually "crashed". I have never seen the line at 6.5 and for the most part it started at -1 to "pick em". The article I posted said AU -2, so the line actually moved a point.

The opening line at -6.5 is on the Vegas Insider NCAA FB page referred to by the OP. He incorrectly used that instead of the current lines.
08/31 7:30 PM
207 Oregon
208 Auburn
58u-10
-6½ -15

Yeah, I am, and here’s something for you to consider before you piss your money away.
UNC lost a lot from last year, even though they played some tight games down the stretch .... they still lost, and that was last year.
Transitions don’t apply more often than not from season to season.
At the same time, I get what you are thinking, I do. But chances are, more than likely, that SC will beat UNC handedly.
You’re got the mentor vs protege dynamic going on. You’ve got a familiar stadium going on and SC fans will outnumber UNC fans up there 4:1. You’ve got recruiting battles going on right now between SC and UNC for North Carolina instate talent. SC has a solid OLine returning and maybe, finally, a deep stable of running backs and definitely a loaded WR Corp. SC’s defense will be fresh and healthy and deep for the first time since Muschamp arrived. We’ll field a far superior special teams unit than will UNC. We’ve not lost to UNC since 1991. We bring a senior QB to the table and, finally, a couple of capable talented backups. SC is, across the board, bigger, faster and more physical than UNC. (Although Mack will get things going up there about like Holtz did here at the time, eventually.). But this first year for Mack, he’s just going to try to survive and get some energy and enthusiasm going up there.
Mack is 1-3 vs the Gamecocks .... all of those took place the last time he coached in Chapel Hill.
It may be a tough game for awhile given it is the first game, I get it ... even then SC will win by 10 or more.
You’re welcome to bookmark this and come back and rub it in my face if I am wrong, but I won’t be. That hook on that line is just that and you’ll see it go up by at least a couple of points between now and kickoff. Not that I’m ever comfortable with that when it happens but it is going to happen. 9.5 is where this game should be, and will be, by kickoff. And even then it’s still a big shiny hook. It’s a sucker bet.
ETA: UNC will be starting a freshman QB, any one of three, with a combined 1.5 starts among them. The highest rated of those three was the #27 rated pro style QB out of HS. Maybe a decent OLine, who knows. RBs .... they've got one pretty good RB that we know of, a second that is supposed to be decent, and Mack will definitely try to play ball control against Boom's defense by running the ball if he can.
UNC`s DLine will consist of 2 upperclassmen and 8 freshmen and sophomores none of which who are, or were, very highly touted. Their entire defense is expected to be questionable this year. They lost a lot. They'll be starting a young inexperienced corner and safety against Bentley and his WR Corp. They have two decent LBs but no depth after that.

But the press has been reporting -2 since March. IDK whose info is correct , but based on that , nothing crashed.

quote:I'd be weary of this line. GSU's triple option will kill a lot of clock. Don't know what they're returning, but coming off a 10-3 season it'd be tough for me to lay the points.
Georgia Southern @LSU (-25.5.)

I'm not here to prove anyone wrong, much less bookmark a post.
I'm an objective college football fan and the value is with the Tar Heels +7.5. UNC could win the game.
SC hasn't done much since Spurrier and I have no reason to think Muschamp puts you in a good position to win a pivotal game.
