My worry is if he can not throw the ball well, his running ability will not help us. The opposing defense will just stack the box and eat us up. He has not looked great throwing it the limited times we have saw him but a lot of work will be put into him by September

I think Joey is solid just enough as a passer to force defenses to pick their poison, but we will see.

Yeah, he needs to have a strong deep or intermediate game (provided we implement intermediate routes this year) for his mobility to be utilized. I seem to remember his deep passes left a lot to be desired so hopefully he has improved there. I suspect he has, it’s just how much has he improved and will it be enough.
