For Alabama in the last few cycles it's Ben Davis. I don't think he ever sees the field.

UK QB Morgan Newton was a 4-star coming out of HS and Mr. Indiana.
Pulled up his stats because I felt an ackshually moment coming on. Often we tend to overstate a kid’s lack of success and I thought maybe the numbers tell a slightly different story. Holy God. I don’t know how I’m typing this as my eyes have melted. Poor kid just...well...poor kid.

Trevonte Valentine big DT out of Florida was another big bust for us. Thought he was gonna be a beast, boy was I dead wrong.

For uga richard samuel was a 5 star I believe and was a bust. Jasper sanks was another one.

Travonte Valentine is the only player I’ve ever seen dismissed from the same team twice. Les brought him back in 2016 and he played a bit against Wiscy and Mississippi State but never played again and was dismissed for the second time.

Clifton Garrett was one of the top prospects in the country and didn’t even play. Davenport at least make some snaps?

100% has to be him. Top 30 player on the 2014 class and I don't think he ever saw a snap for us. Pretty sure he retired from football completely a few years ago too.

I was big time pissed when Blackmon chose Auburn. We needed linebackers badly.

Remember when Samiel busted that 90 yard run early in his career and everyone thought he was the next Herschel? Turns out that anyone can run 90 yards straight if they aren't touched

I'm fuzzy on it but didn't he sit out most of an entire season not actually injured or something?
Edit: just looked it up He was encouraged to sit his JR year which is what I was remembering but played in 11 games. He just had much worse stats his JR year.
Edit 2: Just so you cocks know I don't consider him a bust at all. Was just trying to figure out why someone would suggest it.
No worries, he definitely had disappointing stats his junior year, but there was never any question he was affecting opposing offenses. They just didn't have to worry about anyone else on that D line compared to 2011 and 2012 teams.

Samuel was switched back and forth from LB to RB/FB and greatly misused by the coaching staff.
Sanks was a self-made bust because he couldn't stay off the weed.

Darius Winston for us. 5* CB who was a terrible tackler and bad in coverage. Never did much.

5-star DT Quay Evans came to state, left after his freshman year without playing a single down then murdered a guy years later and is sitting in a prison cell right now. That’s gotta be all-time bad.
This is the only correct answer. Doesn’t get worse than that.

Ronald Powell. Pretty sure he was #1 overall and never did much. Drafted in the 7th round on potential and didn’t make it past preseason I don’t think. One of those weird California prospect bust.
Why do we even recruit out of California? After Powell there was another 5 star DE/OLB bust out of Oakland who got in trouble and transferred to Cal or something, and then this last CB who came in the Spring and quit. We need to stay out of that wacky arse state.

I think it would be the quarterback that was at auburn that was supposed to be really good. I remember him throwing a backwards pass.
Posted on 6/29/19 at 10:22 am to TheBigHurt
Wow I forgot about him. Davenport was a good teammate and good guy by all accounts. Garrett just washed out.
