Quay actually played for us some his freshmen year, but you want to talk about a waste? I saw him in high school run down a kid who ran about a 4.6 from behind on a speed sweep. Saw him literally pick up a 280 pound OT who ended up playing JUCO with his forearm and knock him flat on his arse. Also, watched him take off 2 out of every three plays in high school. Boy, what a waste of not only football potential, but a life.

Named preseason All-American at Bama and never even played a down there.
A couple that I didn't see that I think deserve mention:
Brent Schaeffer - failed to live up to huge hype at two different SEC schools. Left Tennessee, was a 5* JUCO recruit and sucked at Ole Miss. When Can Newton signed with Auburn people said "JUCO QBs never work in the SEC" and that was because of Schaeffer, Newton was referred to here on tRant as "Brent Schaeffer 2.0"
Star Jackson - he was a 4* but Bama fans hyped him like he was a 5* and thought he would end up a Heisman winner
Also multiple people have mentioned Tray Blackmon, and he was a bust but he's not in the conversation for biggest in the last 20 years bc unlike a lot of these guys when Blackmon was actually on the field he played up to the hype, he just wasn't able to stay on the field much due to injuries and off the field issues.

For UGA it’s either Marquis Elmore, Jasper Sanks, Brandon Miller, or Justin Fields. Don’t GAS if Fields wins the Kentucky Derby and World Series of Poker for Ohio State, dude was a bust at UGA just because he was a bitch.
