Does Bama drop UT or Auburn as their perm East rival? Seems to be the primary issue of this topic.

In before Bama fans tell great stories about their phony bama-Tennessee rivalry.

If Auburn moved to the East we'd be playing 4 of the Big 6 every year. I don't see how Tennessee could keep playing BAMA under that. That said, I don't see how you can have BAMA and LSU only playing each other (only 2 Big 6 schools in the West).

The problem is as much balance as it is preserving TSIO, the Iron Bowl or in other configurations DSOR.

Both AU and UA would insist that the IB continues. It is not only good for the State, it is good for the SEC and CF.

The Alabama vs Auburn rivalry has gotten so bitter, I think it would be good to make it a regular rotation game. The teams didn't play for nearly 40 years, or however long it was, and both programs survived it.

That said, I doubt it will happen.

Tennessee hasn't been competitive with bama in years. They have essentially became their annual homecoming cupcake.

Honestly, I wish the SEC would drop divisions and do the same thing that the Big 12 is doing and playing the top 2 schools with the top record.

Auburn needs Alabama. Alabama doesn't need Auburn.

Regardless a 9 game SEC schedule would fix this if the move happens. Problem is nobody other than Saban and Bielema voted in favor of the 9 game SEC schedule. Why is everyone so afraid of playing 9 SEC games?
