Irons, the AU Administration is short sighted if they delay a football only facility because of the current HC. Facility upgrades are needed to keep up with the rest of the programs in this conference.
To “dangle” a football facility in front of a new Candidate is ridiculous when Gus pledged $2MM of his on skin into it.
Hell, AU promised Butch big baseball renovations when they hired him and STILL haven’t done shite. And they recently put the baseball improvements in hold after he just took them to the CWS.....
It is going to get built, but again the Gus issues last year delayed it some.
The BB renovations will happen also, but AUs biggest problem is everything is BOTs approved and that process causes delays. Bama's BOT just rubber stamps anything brought to them by the AD if it involves Football. AU has to debate about it over 2-3 quarterly meetings.

Why hasn’t AU honored the promises they made to Butch when they hired him? Still waiting on the BOT after three years?

This is based on opinion only, not facts. It also makes no sense.
Who would start to clean up their house to sell only after a buyer is found?

Auburn didn’t get on the stadium expansion wagon like every other SEC school did and it’s starting to look like the correct choice. With college football game attendance declining and future tv contracts looking to be less lucrative Auburn now can be more strategic where ther money goes. It also will allow Auburn to have the newest and most advanced facilities when they are done.
Auburn can know decide to add chair backs, donor areas, suites, top grade football facility or whatever with a clearer picture than all the other schools who’ve dumped nearly a billion into facilities and are now talking about they may have to rip many of these upgrades out. Looks to me maybe Auburn in being more financially prudent with their money. Once Auburn starts spending their upgrades will last longer since a decline in revenue will causes other schools not to be able to react as quickly.
