Watch this video, Oates surrounds the goal with a huge Net where players have to arch their shots to get it over the Net and into the basket. Helps shooting.

Dude its hard to get good players here. What did we give Avery four years? We cant afford to lose any of these guys honestly.
While I agree, this guy wiped the floor of a 5* team with a team way less talented than ours. I’m not expecting a huge run or anything in year 1, but he doesn’t need top recruits to win.

I don't want to come across as a jackass, but every single college program has that and does it. Sure, it helps to have the players put more arc on their shot, but it contains misses as well so you're not chasing the ball around the court.

Damn, high energy practices. I bet his guys don't screw around during warmups

Well, you did.
jk.
I liked hearing his coaching points, explaining they needed to drive deeper before making the pass...he does not assume they know why they need to...he explains it. And it does not waste time...he explains it and back to work.

I remember another talented guy that had great talent and a bad attitude who wouldn’t buy in to a new coach’s system. Does the name DJ Hall ring any bells?
I don’t care if you’re Michael fricking Jordan. If you don’t buy in and do what’s asked of you, you’re part of the problem, not part of the solution. GTFO.

Are you talking about Saban's best WR in 2007?

The foundation of his philosophy that keeps coming through to me over and over is “you may beat me, you may out-talent me, but you will NOT outwork, out-prepare, or out-coach me.
Does anyone else think his offensive philosophy is similar to what Jay Wright and Nova did last year?

DJ Hall Bad Attitude Article.
"Hall went from being an asset on the team to a liability because of his attitude. When Nick Saban came to take over the Tide in 2007, Hall was a star and he was upset that Saban didn't treat him like one.
Saban worked hard to get every team member to buy into his "process," but Hall would have none of it. He and a few others resented any thought they could learn anything new from this new coach. They talked about him behind his back and tried to get other players to buy into their way of thinking, not Saban's."

No, he means DJ. And it reinforces my point that we need our players to stay.

I want Oats to keep these players...
Kira Lewis
Juwan Gary
Jaylen Forbes
Jaden Shackelford
Javian Fleming
Diante Wood
Get commit from the Center he offered today.
The rest of those jackasses from last season can kiss my arse.

It finally came to a head when Hall was beaten up by another team member who saw that Hall no longer had the team's interest at heart, only his own. His own teammates were getting sick of his attitude.
Anyone know who laid the beat down???
