A USC fan commenting, that is rich. Don't worry, you have another 52-6 beatdown coming in 2020.

Everyone else schedules non-conference home and home series with P5 opponents years in advance. Alabama is doing that now for the next decade, but for some reason, didn't do so 5-10 years ago. Sure, it's hard for Bama to get P5 opponents on short notice, knowing that they are probably signing up for a loss, but that doesn't really absolve the Bama athletic department for their scheduling practices earlier in the decade.

OU and Texas aren’t scared to play bama.

Texas is on Bama's schedule. Doubt OU wants anymore of Bama.

Holy shite you are dumb. Since Saban came aboard, Bama has scheduled:

2009: VA Tech
2010: Penn State
2011: Penn State
2012: Michigan
2013: Va tech
2014: West Virginia
2015: Wisconsin
2016: USC
2017: FSU
2018: Louisville

Yep, so true. No one wants to have a guaranteed loss to start the season. In would like some home and home series Bama gets Texas in 2022/23 and I know we have some others but we can't really get any good OOC teams to schedule us.

LS8u would duck us if they could...

They are gonna really bitch about UF now that Mullen is there and will continue making them his bitch.

While UT is on the rise, I don't expect them to pose much of a threat for a few more years as Pruit build his roster.

neutral site game

With this home slate (ranked teams bold):

NMSU
So. Miss
Ol. Miss
Tenn
Arky
LSU
W. Carolina

...I would think the fan base would revolt and demand that Alabama start scheduling home games against ranked OOC teams. Otherwise, that stadium's going to be nearly empty every Saturday except the 2nd Saturday in November.

After this shitty Duke game, Bama has the following OOC:

Miami
USC
Texas
Texas
Notre Dame
Notre Dame

Saban makes the playoffs every year, and Coach O never has. Now tell me who the dumbass scheduler is.

They aren't entirely wrong. The way it works is Bama agreed to appear in the 2019 Chick Fil A kick-off bowl first against a TBD ACC opponent. We agreed to show-up and they agreed to get us an opponent which is why we get paid more.

The best the committee could come up with is Duke.

No one from the ACC wanted to start their season off against Bama except Duke.

UF has Miamuh on August 31st and remember we play the Florida State College for Women every year..they are down now but for years they were top five or ten ranked.

We play LSU every year and last year we played @Miss St and have home game this year with AU along with our east schedule. Its a tough slate.

I'll be rooting for LSU - one of the few times I actually do so outside of Bowl games

They are entirely wrong

Miami, Clemson, and others in the ACC were already tied down. Bama should have backed out the game if they didnt want to play a poor opponent

I don't think you understand how these OOC match-ups are determined.

I dont think you do actually....

Clemson and Miami were already tied down with their OOC key matchups for 2019

At that point, the ACC was out of legit opponents. Duke was honestly one of the better picks at the time

There was zero "fear factor"
