This is an honest question. Why is this LSU defense considered elite, yet the Bama defense is considered below par? I know that the Bama schedule has not been great. However I would say that Alabama has played as good or better offensive teams as LSU and has better defensive stats than LSU. Bama has played 3 top 20 offenses in #5 Ole Miss, #21 Missouri and #27 Texas A&M. LSU has played 2 in #5 Ole Miss and #29 Georgia. Alabama has the #16 defense and LSU has the #22 defense. If this LSU defense was a Bama defense of the past 10 years, statistically it would rank dead last.

Because their offense definitely isn't. You gotta hang your hat on something besides "decent on both sides of the ball."

Education has become worse than I thought in the state of Alabama.

A bigger question is why is Bama's offense? The 7 on 7 that you have played against the cupcakes you have played taint your statistics.

Because if you keep wishing it over and over for like 8 years in a row, maybe it will finally come true.

S&P+ Defensive rankings

In the advanced stats, LSU is currently sitting #8 in S&P+ defense while Bama is #20.

The difference isn't large, people are just pointing out Bama's defense this year isn't as good as it's used to being, which is a valid point thus far. #20 is a solid defense, but it's out of the elite category.

Theyre very good. Not sure if elite as their pass rush ability has definitely been better.

But they aren’t a match for Bama. It’s far worse when you take an in depth look at it, and I’m sure LSU fans are trying to will themselves into believing they are Bama’s bane but this Bama offense is insanely better than it ever has been. This won’t be the traditional Bama/LSU slobber knocker. LSU will have to try to keep pace with Bama’s O (they can’t) and it will eventually break open late 2nd or early 3rd.

Bama will cover. Probably 17-21pt win.

Because this is an LSU website where stats don't matter and you're a terrorist if you are against LSU.

Well LSUdonmco we have 1 team that we have both played. That is Ole Miss. LSU scored 45 on them in the game. Your starting offense played in the whole game. Bama scored 49 in the first half and had their starters out by the half. That should tell you something.

We also pulled out starters. And had a fumble and a missed fg I believe.

Good question. They are good, but not elite. Tua will make explosive plays on them.

If you use S&P+ and look at both offense and defense, it looks like lsu is in trouble

Defense
LSU #7
Alabama #20
Offense
Alabama #2
LSU #67

One of these is not like the others
