The amount of spin from State fans is tremendous. It’s amazing what behaviors a little athletic talent will allow fans to brush off. I know ours would do the same, if it was us, but it’s still crazy to see the lengths some will go to justify that kind of act.

Not too many fans are brushing it off. I know, a couple of posters here have tried to justify his actions on the basis of him defending his sister, but really what he did was reprehensible. I think about that video just about every time he makes a big play.
The question is what type of discipline he should face for those actions? I don't think he should have been denied a football career based on one violent act, particularly when he did not have a history of acting out like that.
If State had cut him loose, he would have played 1 year in JUCO and then every other SEC team would be falling all over themselves trying to sign him.
I thought his punishment seemed light, but like I said already he does seem to have put that incident behind him. If he was being a huge thug I could see people criticizing the light discipline, otherwise what's the point in even bringing it up 2 years later?

No spin from State fans. None of us had anything to do with how it was dealt with. Any action that was taken was from the Administration/Coaching staff and since he was not even enrolled as a student, technically they did not have to do anything about it. So if any school needed to deal with it, it would have been his high school.
Also had he been just a regular student who was not a football player then the incident would have never been publicized to the extent it was. If he had been coming to State on a full academic scholarship, then he would have still been accepted and would still be a student today.
Plus this a dead horse and it has beat enough in the last two + years.
