If someone is trying to paint Maddox as a socialist in favor of big government, I'll point out he's actually reduced the size of Tuscaloosa's administration(relative to revenue growth), while improving many of the services. He's a big proponent of efficient government, which is a much better goal than "big" or "small" government.

None of that matters. Our culture of political tribalism won't let people see facts anymore.

Agreed. There's enough awful things about Roy Moore that are true and verifiable. You don't have to resort to making things up, or twisting the facts to make a point. Hell, being removed from the SC twice should have been enough to disqualify him.

Roy Moore must have the worst luck. 5-6 women with no relation to each other all coming at him with the same accusations.

Ivey said today she was bothered by the allegations against Moore, but had to weigh all the available information. She was asked if she believed Moore's accusers.

"I certainly have no reason to disbelieve any of them," Ivey said. "The timing is a little curious. But at the same time, I have no reason to disbelieve them."

quote:

"I'm going to cast my ballot on December the 12th, and I do believe the nominee of the party is the one I'll vote for," Ivey said. "I believe in the Republican Party, what we stand for, and most important, we need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on things like the Supreme Court justices, other appointments the Senate has to confirm and make major decisions. So that's what I plan to do, vote for Republican nominee Roy Moore."

Spare me the "she's a politician" bullshite. She said she believed Moore was using his position as assistant DA to meet HS girls who had cases involving him....yet she's overlooking that for the sake of the party?

I lost all respect for her that day.

Not really. Your post made it sound like either it was ok because DC did it, it was ok because Democrats did it, or at least in your opinion worst people have been elected (albeit in another region). So yeah, I'm still not sure what he has to do with elections in Alabama.

You seem to hear what you want to hear. I'm no Roy Moore supporter, but was simply using a scoundrel of greater national recognition to imply that there are worse examples out there.....don't be so sensitive.

Marion Barry was doing drugs. That's not worse than violating another person. I can't believe I had to type that out.

I don't consider Barry to be worse than Moore.

Obviously, smoking crack isn't a good look, and I wouldn't want to be represented by someone with that kind of baggage. But let's be real, how many people on Capitol Hill do coke regularly? I wouldn't be suprised if that number is close to or above 50%. If you add abusing adderall to that?

He was the mayor at the time soliciting a prostitute that is illegal. So you do not care that he was breaking the law as the current mayor? Along with the other stuff he was doing that was breaking the law. At least Moore whether you like him or not was never prosecuted and found guilty of breaking the law. if you don't see the difference then you have a moral issue, which is what is the problem with this country

No. I do not care if a mayor is paying for sex as long as they are paying with their own money and every person involved is a consenting adult.

I have a much bigger issue with a judge installing a 10 commandments monument, giving the impression that he may be judging people on a different set of rules and may have a bias when judging people that don't have the same beliefs. Or a judge that goes against the Supreme Court because he thinks some "holy" book holds precedent.

Yesterday, you claimed you didn't know who the frick he was.

I wish you'd quit fricking posting on this board with all your goddamn bullshite.

Your opinion of two morons doesn't matter if you don't know who they are.

You said you had never heard of him except in a couple of comedy sketches. Now you're an expert because he smoked crack with a hooker. In fact, you claim to have never heard of so much shite that's posted on this board, it's ridiculous.

It doesn't seem to faze you at all that just six years ago, Barry said the DC city council should drive all Asian businesses out of town. It's just super cool for you that he bought crack and hookers, right?

Being raised in Prattville doesn't excuse your ignorance of anything newsworthy.

I'm out. I realize you're a troll. Nobody could be as ignorant of topics as you claim to be.

As much as I despise Roy Moore this is ridiculous. Carry on with your open support of racism.

I apologize to the board for replying to trolls.

Well that's quite a bit of an exaggeration.

And I don't know. Maybe I hold judges to a higher standard than mayors.

Still not sure how you think I'm some massive troll on every board.
