I have never made it to any expansion team's tailgate, but I have been to ten, and to be honest, there is not a whole lot of difference.Some dbags but most fans are cool to you. People are cooking out and are proud of it and want you to try their food, will offer you something to drink, talk a little smack, and watch and listen to other games around the conference. Now, I haven't done it over 20 years and maybe it has changed, but I doubt it.

I would think you would have to attend a LOT of these to be able to even wager a guess. I mean, what if you showed up at Tiger Stadium when they're playing Alabama, but Jordan-Hare when they're playing Citadel (non-homecoming)?

LSU's tailgates are great if you are an LSU fan or a nuetral guy but to everybody else they are arseholes of the highest order.
I can't stand that place when you have to walk through that mess on gameday. No other place has more 40 year old power drinkers, immature a holes and vile individuals than that one. If I were an LSU fan I'd love it. To have to say a few years ago I wouldnt take my wife and kids to that place again is not good. I love all other venues in the SEC and look forward to many more years but I'm not going back there. It's awful.

I think the tailgate scene is just about the same across the board if you ask me. There might be something here and there that is elevated over another school, but a list like this is more subjective than anything.

not really a lot that separates any of these IMO, aside from the river/navy setting in knox which is very cool.

I enjoyed myself the times I went in Columbia, but the tailgate areas seemed a bit scattered. That said, I envy the people who party in the Cockabooses (or whatever they're called), because they seem pretty damn awesome...
