Signee 101: Get to know 4-star Auburn WR Matthew Hill (SECCountry)
quote:

Auburn scored a commitment from wide receiver Matthew Hill at the end of the summer.

The Tigers worked to hold off Clemson throughout January. Clemson made a major push for Hill as a safety, and the 4-star prospect from Georgia put serious consideration into that decision. Ultimately the home feel of Auburn — and the relationships with coaches Kodi Burns and Travis Williams — won out. Hill visited Auburn the final weekend of the cycle, which was a strong indication of where things were headed.

Here is all you need to know about the wide receiver in the 2018 class:

4-star wide receiver Matthew Hill

247Sports composite ranking: No. 17 wide receiver, No. 13 prospect in Georgia, No. 92 overall

Hometown: Snellville, Ga.

School: Brookwood

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 185 pounds

Offers: 17, including Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Commitment: Aug. 17, 2017

Senior season stats: 52 receptions for 879 yards and 7 touchdowns; 76 carries for 695 yards and 4 touchdowns; 349 returns yards and 1 touchdown

Where he fits at Auburn: Hill was recruited by schools as a safety and a wide receiver. Clemson made the biggest push for Hill on the defensive side of the ball. Ultimately, however, Hill decided the offensive side of the ball was the better fit for him. That’s where Auburn saw him all along. If you were to compare him to a wide receiver on the roster right now, Darius Slayton would probably be the best fit. Hill brings a versatility to the football field few other prospects in the class can. In high school, he lined up out wide, at running back and as a returner.

Still pumped we hung onto this kid. At a minimum he should be AU's punt returner next year. He could line up anywhere on offense including some at RB if needed

Signee 101: Get to know 4-star Auburn DL Richard Jibunor (SECCountry)
quote:

Richard Jibunor and Auburn were a match made in heaven.

The 4-star defensive lineman from Athens, Ga., had uncommon connections to the Plains from the start. He had a prior relationship with Tigers offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogha because of their Nigerian background. That made Auburn seem like a probable landing spot since the beginning of the process.

It became even more likely when Jibunor started taking regular visits to the Plains. He fostered a strong bond with defensive line coach Rodney Garner and linebackers coach Travis Williams. Jibunor braced himself for a Thanksgiving Day decision. Auburn wasn’t going to lose out to Florida and Tennessee for that one.

Jibunor will bring high energy to the Tigers.

Here is all you need to know about the defensive lineman in the 2018 class:

4-star defensive lineman Richard Jibunor

247Sports composite ranking: No. 13 athlete, No. 35 in Georgia, No. 309 overall

Hometown: Athens, Ga., via Nigeria

School: Athens Christian

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 210 pounds

Offers: 18 offers, including Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Louisville

Commitment: Nov. 23, 2017

Where he fits at Auburn: As his athlete listing indicates, Jibunor is capable of playing multiple positions. In high school, he lined up in several spots on the defense, returned kicks/punts and played some wide receiver. He’ll be all defense in college. Jibunor played some pure linebacker and lined up some as a defensive end. For Auburn, he is the perfect fit for the Buck pass-rusher role, following guys like Carl Lawson, Jeff Holland and TD Moultry. There aren’t many 2018 prospects with higher motors than Jibunor.
