We can agree that the athletes are receiving pay that no other average student receives and by calling it a stipend doesn't change that it is a salary.

No. It isn't a salary. The students in the academies get a salary. Student athletes get a stipend. It is better than a salary in that it isn't taxed to the student or payroll employer.

What we are arguing about is that pay structure is totally beneficial toward the schools and short change the athletes.

It isn't a salary. It isn't a pay structure. These are people. But they are not employees. It still involves amateur athletics.

You are so lost. This thread has jumped the shark.

You and I are arguing semantics right now (A rose by any other name). Bama reported $104M in direct revenue for football. They had 85 scholarhip athletes, you do the math. Calling their scrapes a stipend or a salary really doesn't change what they are. They are employees of University with partial long term benefits and they are being taken advantage of. The NCAA has brainwashed people like you into believing that they are amateurs. Again, are they getting anything more than what an average student on full scholarship gets ?
