Living in the same place is okay. Depends on the place. Metro areas have so much to offer with new things coming around all the time. I moved from Butler, AL to Greensboro, NC after college.
Sucks to live 650 miles from your family, but it was the best choice I ever made. I got married and started a family here.
When I did it, I was planning on coming here for a few years experience and then move back down closer, but I absolutely love this area.
I'm a big golfer. Greensboro has tons of good courses, then I have Pinehurst an 1 1/2 hours away, and Myrtle Beach golf 3 hours away. Actually going down next week to Myrtle for a golf trip. Playing TPC and Caledonia.

I have moved over 25 times in my life. Some were great experiences a couple weren't. New areas can be a lot of fun. Getting a leg up in your career is also pretty good as you can then build on that. Never be afraid of taking a risk.
