I'm just not in a good place with this situation.

How do I just sort of watch AU football like a bad movie or a reality show that I can't avoid without being disappointed in the results?

Some people may have to just not watch.

I just have to look at my family and it's easy to remind myself how silly it is to get so worked up over an amateur sporting even (or any sporting event really).

^ "It's not the end of the world."

I'm ok with that quote from us. My family still loves me, etc, but for a HC to say the above at a press conference is pathetic.

Will Gus learn from it? This is a pattern. Good out of the gate. Scared to lose. No guts.

I can't. I really will not be able to do my job through about Wed.

Come on man. It's a game. It's not the end of the world. Of course, it's easier for me to say that knowing I don't have to really listen to Bama fans up here in Philly

I loved the when the reporter asked him about 4th and 1 in the fourth quarter and deciding to punt. Gus said "what was the score?" 23-21. "thats why we punted"

As if the score fricking mattered when the momentum was a got damn avalanche at that point in the game. One first down there would have had them on their heels and any fricking points would have sealed it

take it for what it is. A game. Sure it's fun to win. But I used to let it get me for at least a solid day. Now it hurts for 10-20 min and I say frick it and go about my day. Nothing I can do about it anyways. To lose sleep or be pissed off toward others over a game is pretty silly

It’s called family time mixed with alcohol (at times).

No, he's getting even worse about it. It's like he has PTSD or something.

I'm just going to hunt on Saturdays and check the score whenever I feel like it.

I've been checked out since the Clemson game even when everyone was high on Auburn for beating garbage teams. I was telling my Bama fan friend before the game yesterday that I wasn't impressed because we hadn't beat anyone yet.

Same boat. I'm in the brewing industry so at least I can literally go drown in that for a while. Always wanted to try fishing. At least college football as a whole is still crazy fun to watch, just gotta find another team/storyline to follow and kind of cheer for. I like OK State a lot this year.

Sure it's just a game, but its a generational pastime being passed down. Hell my grandpa played for AU in the 40s. I've had 4 generations of Aubbies at a tailgate. Not to mention how much fricking money gets donated. Losses happen, but this is a shitshow.

I'm to the point where I rather hire an up and coming coach get some mediocre recruiting classes and go 8-5 the same way Moo State and others do. I could take those losses a lot better than being loaded with talent and paying Gus malzhan and his mickey mouse offense

Maybe stop going to the games. That’s the most obvious protest a fan can do. If Jordan Hare was half empty you better believe some heads would roll.

Choose wisely, when we got up 20 I had already had one beer. Then opened another after half. As I saw what was about to unfold I tightened the reigns and let up. This morning we took our kid to a fall festival, corn maze and haunted house. Then had lunch out. I started pounding beers at about 4pm EST and am on number 5 now. It is better to get wasted on Sunday afternoon when we suck and not during the game.

I was in the middle of an engagement party when I heard we lost. Said “I fricking hate Gus Malzahn”, pounded a gin and tonic, and went on to have a wonderful evening.

I’m done with Auburn athletics ruining my fall weekends.

Two ways. 1) I have a good buddy who keeps me grounded. He never expects to win the big games. We were watching the game yesterday in Biloxi and towards the end of the half we mailed it in. We hoped to pull out the win, but saw the writing on the wall. I have now since adapted a no expectations policy. 2) gamble and drink while watching a lead being sat on. That really helped.
