USC needs to get that offense going. Boom has their defense looking good.

Cheney has given Fromm a great plan. Easy throws and deep shots off play-action. Fromm has played pretty mistake free and hit open guys.

Just going to drop this here, not sure if it's been discussed. But either that's a typo or Levi Wallace is on a different planet right now

It is so nice to see Alabama not allowing so many negative plays like the last couple years. Still need some work though on third down conversions. Given our offensive style, it should be a strength. But somehow it's still a weakness. I think it will improve though.

For all the jokes about Chavis' defense, his defenses are still very aggressive and put up a lot of negative plays. Against teams that struggle to take advantage of those openings, their defense can do a lot of damage to a drive

Pretty clear based on the wide range of stats that Alabama, Georgia and Auburn are the top 3 teams.

The team that surprisingly pops up more often than others is South Carolina. It feels like they are a marginal running game away from being a pretty solid football team.

Agree. A&M appears more often than I'd expected, too.

These two numbers impress me the most:

I'd like to see what Georgia's average 3rd down distance is. I have to imagine it's 3-5 yards. Makes it really easy for Fromm. They've been impressive in that aspect this season.

I haven't looked up our rate from 2010 (probably not anywhere close to uga's right now), but I knew at 3rd and 3 or less, it was a guaranteed 1st down with Cam.

I always felt that was the strongest aspect of Tebow led Florida offenses. 3rd and 3 or shorter was nearly hopeless for the defense

Yep - if you have a running QB who is a power runner 3rd and short should be unguardable.

You have to account for

- QB run inside tackles
- QB run outside tackles
- HB run
- QB/RB option run
- QB pass to WR
- QB pass to TE
- QB pass to RB
- RPO

Just nearly impossible, especially if they have a good offensive line.

Even when it was defended well, Can always was able to fall forward for the first down. It was awesome. Didn't matter that Gus would call the same play every single time and everyone knew what was coming.

The only way to stop that guy from falling for 2 yards is to hit him with 2 guys, and because of all the options you couldn't assign 2 guys to him.

Thats what makes Fitz at MSU dangerous too. Good thing they aren't too good on first and second downs.
