and this was a playcalling/O line issue more than it was a Hurts issue.

Dude- this subject has been re-hashed ad-naueseum on this board . Hurts played like shite in that game.......as did the entire offense and Sarkisian sucks.....I'm not putting it all on Jalen.
All I was pointing out, was that putting us ahead with 2 minutes to go, single-handedly, is the definition of clutch.

I said post inside information which, I haven't. Good reading skills though.

Huddie,
What has Jalen done in your eyes, this season, to warrant Tua to start over him? I agree, that Tua seems to have better arm talent, but Hurts is a playmaker, clutch, isn’t a turnover machine, and is electric when he runs.
Actually, I just said that I don't think Tua is quite ready to be the starter, but I think by year's end he probably will be.
Hurts turned the ball over like 14 times last year. That's a pretty good bit, and he fumbled a lot more times that we recovered.
Yes. He's a very good running quarterback, but he lacks the skills (see my sig) to be a very good all around quarterback and I've said it since mid season last year. I also said then, and I was correct, that defenses would start pressuring and containing him and he'd have to win with his arm. I don't think he's good enough to win games with his arm. I think we won a lot of games last year in spite of that, same as we won in 1992 in spite of Jay Barker's qb skills.

You mean inside information like Bateman would be the starting qb vs USC last year, with Barnett #2 and Hurts #3.
Awesome.

If you remember what I said which it's obvious you don't, i said I couldn't believe my info on hurts was wrong based on what I had seen at the scrimmages. Turns out my eyes didn't lie. Keep trying to change the subject after I've proven you wrong again and again lol. Now it's this and not I said I wasn't posting but in fact posting inside info.

He played with both the 1s and the 2s in those two games.

Intelligent response. Can you not reasonably discuss an issue, even with those with whom you don't agree? Evidently not.
edit: I'm out anyway, so knock yourself out with more silly and childish barbs.

Not sure about this tbh. everything i've read about him and even how he chose Bama is because how his faith comes into play and that he felt at home. he said in an interview that the faith in Tuscaloosa is what ultimately made his mind up.

One can never be sure about anything, especially things that are out of one's own control, but it's a real good bet that a guy with the talent he has isn't going to sit for 3 years to play 1, with a little mop up duty in some games..
Tuscaloosa isn't the only place that one can practice his faith. In fact, some righteous men feel compelled to carry their faith to the land of the immoral reprobates. Lee County is only one of those places. There are not a few. I, myself, posted on TiderInsider Quad forum for a long long time.
edit: Since you sometimes have to spell it out for some folks lurking around that aren't keen on subtlety, I'm not implying that I think he would consider transferring to Auburn. It was kind of a joke. Maybe not a funny joke, but a joke nontheless.
edit too: I'm not saying that Tua is ready to start. I have already said he needs more work. He is, after all...wait for it...a true freshman!

Hurts is the man and Tua will have his time. Lets just enjoy having a great backup.

You know what is kind of awesome? Having being do the yearly call for the backup QB.........with a backup QB is actually awesome.
That's some good shite.

Aug I apologize if the move upset you and others. My stuff was being stolen at a high rate and I'm done with all that hate and foul comments provided by SECR and RTF. I'm sure Hannibal could add you in the group to check it out, I've seen no issues from you at all. Maybe just shoot him a message?

Tua has to get playing time when the game is still in question. He is a freshman and the backup QB. His backup is also a true freshman. It isn't like we have a redshirt sophomore at backup that has been in the system for a few years. I hope Hurts stays healthy but he is a running QB. He gets hit several times a game. If he goes down Tua has to be ready. I don't know what else you could ask for as a true freshman. He knew Hurts was the starter when he signed with Alabama.

I doubt Tua will go anywhere and my guess is Hurts may jump to the NFL after next season. That would mean that Tua would only sit out 1 year if he was till behind Hurts then.
I am not Hurts will be a great NFL QB but after his junior year I am not sure he will get much better and may peak and with Tua already demonstrating he wants to challenge I am not sure Hurts could hold him off Hurts senior year which would not bode well for the draft.

is pretty good.
I admit to be biased in liking a passing QB more than a running QB, but I think Jalen is going to have to continue to improve his passing if he wants to hold onto the "starting" job throughout his whole career. Not this year, but eventually, I could see them both playing a lot. I know people cringe when hearing about "two QB systems" but it can work and even be a weapon.

I doubt Hurts jumps to the NFL early.
Unless he makes a major improvement, he won't play QB in the NFL. Maybe running back.
And no I'm not saying Tua should start over Hurts this year.
