Well, OSU gave up over 400 yards to Indiana in the air, but Oklahoma insists they have an elite pass defense, so...

Grantham's Lousiville Defense gave up over 138 yds to LSU as well.
Keep in mind they were ranked as the 4th best rushing defense.

BYU had -5 rushing yards
124th ranked offense in the nation after 3 games. What else would one expect?

Chattanooga had 68 rushing yards
Sad..

When you can't run, you are forced to throw the ball. 174 yards passing is not exactly lighting it up.
2 mistakes here.
1- Chattanooga doesn't run the same style of offense as MSU so comparison like that don't work. It's very sophomoric.
MSU has the top rushing attack in the SEC. More yards. Higher YPC. 3 top 15 rushers in the SEC. You are not going to shut them down. You may keep them from their average of 6.9 ypc, but you will respect the rush and you WILL NOT be able to man up on all of the WRS and TEs. Somebody is going to be 1 on 1. Why? Because that's a system they run. It's called the spread.
2- Msu can throw. Rust knocked off first game, and Fitz was 67% in the last game. He's thrown for 6 Tds
You won't stop MSU from scoring 28..... It's going to be LSU O vs MSU defense. You are a 70% rushing team for the season. 70% of your plays are rushing. You are 1 dimensional.

Wow. If other State fans are this dense, you are in for one rude awakening.
You think you're going to pass on our secondary with even a remote amount of success?
I can't name one time in the past five years anyone has. Maybe Texas A&M last year, but those were all in garbage time.

But your team is South Florida and you are in Memphis? Gtfo
"to pass on our secondary with even a remote amount of success?"
Who is WE?

Yep, isn't Ohio St. currently ranked last in pass defense? Anthony Cook needs to recognize, Corey Raymond would never allow that from his DBs.

Yes.

I can.
Last year Kelly was 67% against you.
2015-- Patrick Mahomes 370 yards passing-- Kelly again for 280.... and that list goes on.
2014-- Dak 268...etc etc.
Sorry.

Wasn't LSU losing like 3-0 against a FCS? That's something that State didn't allow. LSU losing to FCS school. We can go down this road if you want
Ok, these are getting pretty comical.

Last week LSU gave up 174 yards passing to MSU's 4th string QB from last season. Ponder that a moment.
And?

Bruh?
C. Kelly 20/33 218 6.6 1 TD 2 INT 43.8 QBR
You should've used the Texas A&M game for 2016.

State fans rightfully so are excited bc they have a new D.C. And they've beaten two inferior teams.. they have yet to play SEC talent though. Should be fun.

I thought he's thrown for 5 tds in two games. Some rushing as well.. could be wrong.

Lol mahomess' team go wrecked
Passing yard stats in a beatdown are beyond irrelevant

I really don't think some of these state fans have their statistics correct

Another thought to ponder:
Nick had 13 carries for a total of 13 yards last season vs LSU. Might wanna call up that 4th stringer, Nick Fratzgerald is in for a long day.

I'm tipping my hat to Mahomes, doesn't even matter if it was against Steele and not Aranda, that's the best QB LSU has faced in a decade. Grant was a beast too, it was impossible to cover him in the slot.

Where did you get that?
He had 1 TD and 2 Int. That is the game Fournette set an LSU rushing record on only 12 carries. How exactly do you think that game went?
OM had to throw it all over to play catch up.
quote:
2015-- Patrick Mahomes 370 yards passing
Legit QB, but again a blowout shows very little about just how effective our secondary is against the pass.
quote:
2014-- Dak 268...etc etc.
I'll give you that one.
So you had to go back to 2014. Pulling stats in the manner you did is like saying Geno Smith had his way with LSU in Morgantown. If you looked at his passing alone you might think that, but LSU dominated, and WVU had to play catch up.
So glad Chavis and Brick are gone. Right now you see what LSU is like when it has elite beef up front, savage LB's coming off the edge, and a secondary full of future NFL draftees.
If you wanted a real QB that did well against LSU, it was Jake Locker in 2009.
25/45 321 yds 2 TD 1 Int - 71 QBR
I will refrain from posting 2008. I like to forget that season, and co DC experiment even happened.
