Haven't seen anyone talking about it, but SDH in his first action off knee surgery is a concern IMO.

It's not unusual for a player to get back up to speed two seasons after a knee injury, especially if the injury was late in the season like it was for SDH.

The staff tracks every movement on the practice field and on gamedays via technology. see here

If he was slower than they documented him being this time a year ago, they'd know it and would likely have a plan for it.

The standout senior linebacker is healthy, back down to 230 pounds and set to start at inside linebacker when Alabama plays Florida State on Saturday.

Hamilton is also faster and more explosive than he was before tearing his ACL, according to numbers from Alabama's Catapult system that tracks things such as a player's speed.

"I feel good, better than ever," Hamilton said. "I'm just excited to get back on the field in an actual game. I'm ready to go."

I was feeling all warm and fuzzy when I read this. Then I got to the bottom of the article, and Evans sobered me up a little with this quote.

quote:

I feel like now he's starting to get a lot more comfortable running on that knee that he had the injury on. I think he'll probably do good, man. Just the fact with this knee, it being sore and stuff like that, I think all of these practices have kind of like loosened it up a little bit

Sounds like SDH is playing with some pain. I tore my meniscus. My knee hurt for years after that injury.

I'reckon We'll find out soon enough. SDH such a good dude I'm really hoping for a big season for him this year.

I share your concern. Another quote from Evans: "I am sure he will probably do a good job" might seem like an endorsement and I am probably reading too much into it but I don't like the word "probably" from a teammate. Yeah, I am a bit worried about it.

I also am not surprised to hear about Najee. From an athletic standpoint he is probably the most gifted on the roster and that speaks volumes when you have a stable full of NFL guys including a hulk like, beast in Bo.

Those gifs you posted summer have definitely got my attention. Well done.

Could also mean he felt some soreness early on but now it's loose

That's why Mack Wilson has shadowed him since day1 and I mean day 1.

We would have definitely accepted a commitment from Thomas. He's a great LB. Reminds me of CJ Moseley. Great in coverage and sideline to sideline.

Matthew Thomas has been cleared to play for FSU. It's unclear if he actually will play Saturday being that he's been out so long, but Fisher said this week he expected Thomas would be ready to go when cleared LINK

Thomas won't be 100 percent ready, missed way too much practice time.

Good to see you, Surge ! Once more unto the breach ol friend.

Hell I saw Bamachine over on RTB today also. It must be football season !

Now somebody get an email to Coach letting him know I'd prefer Jacobs take the next couple weeks off, and get that hammy healed up right instead of this becoming an entire season issue. I hate playing dinged up players ! But CNS loves it !

shite like getting shot in the leg right before game week can really be a distraction for other guys. I say boot his arse if it looks like he may have shot himself at all.

glad you aren't making our personnel decisions. that type of knee jerk reaction ignores A) the fact that players make mistakes and we don't know Davis' history, B) the fact that he will be an absolute beast on the field for us and will make plays to help us win games this year, and C) the negative message you send your team and recruits when you boot a guy that quickly.

DL and CB might be the safest positions on the team to screw up off the field this season haha.

I am a lock them up and throw away the key kind of guy and even I believe this is dumb beyond belief.

You're booting a guy because the owner of a dive bar claims to have heard a rumor he accidentally shot himself?

You're worried that may cause a team distraction? You know what would really cause a distraction? Booting a guy who MIGHT have lied about an embarrassing accident. Yeah, that's really going to tell the team the coach has their back.

Hopefully coach bans his players from going to that damn bar after this shite. Go to rounders instead where there's plenty of white girls haha

Yeah, like white girls haven't been baiting football players into altercations...
