If it is Luke, I'm done with Ole Miss football until he and Bjork are both fired. I hope those worthless shite stains don't fill half the stadium and can see what laziness gets them

That Smith Kid committed. Sounds like Luke must have told him he got the job.

This on top of the apology crap today with luke comments.

His sister already attends OM. I think that's most if not the entire reason.

You aren't going to get DC and OC worth those amounts with Luke as your head coach. He doesn't have enough clout for that.

I can't believe we are about to hire a guy who for years the fans have (rightly or wrongly) wanted fired for being a crap OL coach.

There's no reason to spend that much money on coordinators for a failed regime. Let's save that money to reload for 2025.

Ross Bjork and this administration have no fricking spine if they pussy out and make this hire. Luke is a good dude but man, frick him and frick anyone supporting this disastrous hire.

This university has failed its fans and its state time and time again.

The way today has turned out made me do a complete 180 on my opinion of Morris. Suddenly he and Doeren are sexy AF hires.

Program is in shambles. Top to bottom it's a mess and the sanctions haven't even come out.
If we are too lazy to do an actual coaching search and hire Luke I won't be attending any more games. I'll go to the Grove for a little bit and hang out with the boys, maybe go get drunk but frick everything else.
Not spending a dime on this university.

Hiring Luke over anybody is idiotic. Did people not watch games this year? We were terribly coached. Morris or anybody would be so much more respectable. This will be the end of Bjork if he hires Luke

It appears that we are looking at a 2 year bowl ban. That's going to keep us from getting a big name coach. Why not give Luke 2 more years?
give him a 3 year contract, see what he can do. Why go out and get another coach, now? The players have been through enough and the only hope you have of keeping enough talent to win with, is if you keep Luke.
Without Luke or a big time coaching hire there are many talented players that can leave.
If they leave, we are back to 4-8 and 2-10 over the next 2 years, no matter who you bring in as the future of Ole Miss.
We aren't getting the big time coach this year, but if things don't work out with Luke while we are on a 2 year bowl ban then you can set up for a huge hire when we aren't on a bowl ban.
Look, if AJ Brown doesn't get hurt at Cal, Swinney and Jordan don't put the ball on the ground vs Arky and Jordan throws the ball away in the aTm game instead of the int, we would be talking about how great a job Luke did keeping this season together after losing the starting QB.

With the amount of money we were offering and the built-in job security I refuse to believe that Matt Luke was the best candidate for the job.

Except AJ getting hurt, all of those things are on coaching.

MS state had 5 turnovers and they almost beat us with a true freshman QB who can’t throw. We have all world WRs and a decent QB, there is no excuse for that.

EXACTLY. We lost the Cal, Ark, and A&M games because of coaching and no other reason. We almost let State (with a Fresh backup QB who couldnt throw the ball within 5 yards of receivers and 5 turnovers) come back and beat us because of coaching. Making excuses for those losses is only trying to somehow justify the terrible coaching hire we are going to make

Yep. I don't understand what the deal is. The team was out of control with Luke too. He showed zero leadership on the field. When the players were showing there asses Luke was standing around looking like a dumbass.

If we hire Matt Luke, the majority of our fan base will actually wish we had lost to state. Think about that. I think Matt Luke is a great guy and a great alum, but he should know he is not the right guy to take this program forward. If we get an additional year bowl ban, we are hiring a guy who was on the staff that gutted this program. Know the kids love him, but just cause he lets them get away with whatever they want, doesn’t mean he’s what we need.

This is just leading me to believe we are about to get slammed by the NCAA.
