Just terrible, I met him one time at the Popeyes on MLK a year or two ago. He had just ordered and I didn't recognize him until one of the employees said to a coworker "I think that's coach Broyles" I turned around and sure enough it was him. Nice guy; got to shake his hand but all I could bring myself to say to him was "Coach Broyles! It's an honor to meet you; Popeyes never gets old does it?" and he just laughed and said something about the biscuits couldn't really understand exactly what he said he was speaking so softly, but I just laughed back and said they were my favorites and made my way. When I look back I couldn't believe I didn't talk to him about the Hogs but I was just too nervous to bring up the topic. I kinda felt like it would be a dick move to bring it up. I pray he gets better, strokes are a hell of a thing to come back from.

My dad is friends with his daughter-in-law, so I got the opportunity to have Thanksgiving dinner with him a few years ago. He and I sat and watched football that day and talked about old coaches, games and programs. He could not have been more gracious. One of the best Football experiences of my life.

Experience of a lifetime right there. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to talk shop with him about the game. That's beyond awesome.

He never watched the '69 'Game of the Century.'

My brother and I had gone to Memphis to watch the Hogs play Memphis in the Liberty Bowl quite a few years ago. Tight game all the way, we won by a field goal I believe.
We left the game a couple of minutes before it was over, to beat a little of the rush.
Walking down the street, I noticed a man walking down the sidewalk towards us and the stadium. He got closer and I recognized him. It was Frank Broyles.
He had gotten so nervous that he had left the stadium and went for a walk. I understand that happened frequently.
