I graduated from AU and know many who graduated from Bama

congrats. That goes both ways, pal. many who graduated at one of the schools grew up with people who went to and graduated from the other.

quote:

The majority of AU students from the 60s,70s,and 80s where Alabama residents whose parents were a product of the Great Depression.

Many of the students at EVERY college in America in the 50's and 60's had parents who were products of the great depression. This isn't unique to AU.

If you are trying to claim that those students in the 60s, 70s, and 80s were first generation college grads, while simultaneously claiming they grew up in this state to parents from the great depression, how do you explain the students who went to AU from 1859 through 1959? Did NONE of their children decide to follow in their parents' footsteps and attend AU?

Don't question Puppet. He knows all about the battle between good and evil in the state of Alabama. And they're coming after our butts.

I bet you would see similar stats from MSU. People couldn't afford to send their children to college if their economic background was from certain states.

My guess is that most of them followed jobs to other locations and the majority of their children went to school in those states. It is easier for lawyers, doctors and accountants to find jobs in Alabama during those days, then it was for Engineers and Vets.
