It seems like other teams have more signed at this point looking at 247. What is going on with us?

So what are the rules on this early signing period? Won't this eventually become NSD and the others be considered late signees?

We don't have a DC or coaches on that side of the ball. Most of our offensive players signed and the defensive kids are waiting to see what happens.

I think it's about building a relationship with the new staff.

But we have gotten just over half of our commits.

We knew there were question marks with Brown & White.

I am not sure why the Manvel duo and Tyree haven't signed. I thought they were firm.

So are we okay with who we got? No bad surprises?

No bad surprises except for no good surprises. Wonder what the spin will be. Hope we can get a few uncommitteds and a flip or two (4 star or better)

Not really a huge surprise. New coaching staff was gonna struggle to keep everyone committed no matter who it was. Early signing period really fricked us. Not seeing any teams with new coaches very happy about it.

We were told by the "insiders" if we retained Price we'd retain commits and add new ones in short order. Neither have been true. Pretty suprising imo.

Brown was retweeting A&M stuff all day and even tweeted at the new DT offer, wonder if it was a total surprise to our staff he decommitted today.

Brown has been looking for reasons to look elsewhere long before we fired Sumlin.

At the end of the day it’s 17 year old kids making a decision. Who knows wtf they’re thinking

This should tell you exactly how much these "insiders" really know about the decisions of 17-18 year old high school kids.

At the end of the day this is Jimbo day 17 and Brewster day 7, and we have no defensive staff at all. And outside of one bump in the road with Brown, the entire class is still on board and we have addressed a big need at TE. We are going to flip a DT from Oregon as well.

This ain’t Kirby Smart two years into his program and heading into the playoffs folks. This is 20 days. I would have loved to have seen a bigger bump from the hire, but I can’t really say it’s some black mark on Jimbo to have held the entire class together and flip a needed TE and likely a DT with only an offensive staff.

Trust me when I say he is going to hire some stud defensive recruiters and I have every expectation that we pull in the majority of in-state talent next year as well as some eye-opening out of state commitments. But this year it’s probabky best not to have unrealistic expectations for a half-completed staff to swoop in and flip some five stars. Mullen did it at UF, but the secret is that guy was already wanting to go to UF and Mullen just had to not frick it up.

Arkansas looks to be pressing hard for the Manvel trio and Tyree just from glancing at their twitters. Preston doesn’t seem to have responded at all, but, Brian Johnson is retweeting a lot of it.

I wouldn't say that's been the only bump in the road. Leon also jumped ship. They were our two best defensive recruits. I do hope we get Leon back. Yeah, those "insiders" don't know a lot about the kids and their desires. It seems they just have info on coaches schedules and targets
