DT - Coynis Miller

The Birmingham product is presumed to eventually choose between Alabama and Auburn. Miller grew up a Bama fan and says the Tide seems to be making the biggest push to sign him.

DT - Jalen Cunningham

Alabama leads big for the massive in-state defensive tackle. A commitment could come soon.

DT - Emmit Gooden

Keeping in the tradition of signing a junior college defensive lineman, Alabama sits in a good spot for the do-it-all DL after officially offering the former Mississippi State signee earlier this week.

DE - Max Wright

Alabama got Wright on campus earlier this spring, and is working against Texas and Texas A&M to pry the elite defensive lineman out of state. The Tide is currently in Wright's top 11, and will likely make additional cuts to come.

DE/LB - KJ Henry

Alabama will need to sign some five-stars to have a shot at the top spot. While Henry is trending to Clemson, the Tide is a serious contender.

DE/LB - Eyabi Anoma

Anoma has been trending to the Tide since he picked up an offer earlier this year. The four-star weak-side defensive end visited Tuscaloosa in April, and is expected to return next month.

Hank said yesterday he is close to CBing Anoma to Alabama. He's waiting on him to finalize his visit plans.

LB - Jordan Davis

Alabama's longest-tenured commitment is solid in his verbal pledge to the Tide.

He should be getting a nice bump in the rankings soon.

LB - JJ Peterson

Alabama leads for the talented Peach State 'backer. Both Auburn and Georgia are working to keep pace.

CB - Patrick Surtain Jr.

LSU and Florida State are ahead of the pack. Alabama hopes to get the five-star on campus this summer. Can it steal some momentum from the others? The Tide may end up having a better shot at Surtain Jr.'s teammate Tyson Campbell, another elite cornerback.

Yeah right.

CB - Jalyn Armour-Davis

As BamaOnLine reported on Wednesday night, Armour-Davis will announce his decision on Friday, May 26 at around 12:30 p.m. CT. Alabama, Auburn, and Florida State are the finalists. My Crystal Ball pick is in for the Tide.

CB - Josh Jobe

Jobe is committed to Miami and says his recruitment is shut down. Last fall, the four-star corner said Bama was his top school despite being committed to the Hurricanes. The Tide has hosted Jobe once this spring, and may eventually get him back on campus. There are some who believe this one isn't over yet.

S - Kelvin Joseph

Alabama would have to flip Joseph from LSU, but has appeared in good shape to do so for almost a year now. Last August, Joseph was openly questioning his pledge to the Tigers after visiting Tuscaloosa. Can Bama get the elite defensive back thinking along those lines once again?

P - Jake Camarda

Alabama needs a punter in this class with JK Scott's eligibility running out after the 2017-18 season. Camarda is committed to Georgia, but if anything were to change with that, Alabama would be a school to watch for the top punter/kicker in America.

Some final thoughts ...

This is not a class projection, more so just guys Alabama is still in the running for at positions of need that would give the program a realistic shot for No. 1.

I still think guys like Christian Tutt, Quay Walker, Kevontae' Ruggs, and Jaycee Horn -- the first of two of which I have Crystal Balled to Alabama -- are more likely to end up in the class than guys like Patrick Surtain Jr., Jamaree Salyer, or Max Wright.

We'll know a lot more about how this class is going to develop as we go through the summer.

We saw almost all of Alabama’s roster in spring practices, scrimmages and the A-Day Spring Game back on April 22. But what about the Crimson Tide’s incoming freshmen that will be on campus Memorial Day weekend? While 16 members of the nation’s top-ranked class of 2017 enrolled early, there are several others that will make an impact this fall.

Here, BamaOnLine lists five incoming freshmen that could the have the biggest impacts in 2017.

LaBryan Ray -- 5-star SDE

Ray is the highest-ranked player not already on campus and is one of six -- yes, six -- five-star players Alabama signed during the 2017 cycle. The James Clemens (Ala.) High School product finished his senior season with 124 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 16 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and one blocked punt. With both Jonathan Allen and Dalvin Tomlinson now in the NFL, the Tide needs more bodies along the defensive line, and at 6-foot-4, 260, Ray arrives at UA at an almost identical size as Da'Shawn Hand did in 2014.

Jedrick Wills -- 4-star OT

As the No. 34 overall prospect in the 2017 cycle, Wills was two spots shy of achieving five-star status. With that being said, the Lexington, Ky., native is one of the top players joining the roster for this season, and he will enroll with a couple of spots along the offensive line still up for grabs. Although he was listed as a tackle during his recruitment, Wills can play guard at the collegiate level, and right guard is a position Alabama has yet to fill. Wills will likely compete for that position with his older teammates as soon as he steps foot on campus this weekend.

Henry Ruggs III -- 4-star WR

Alabama signed four wide receivers this cycle, and a player listed as an athlete (Chadarius Townsend) spent most of the spring with the wideouts. But that won’t stop the speedy Ruggs from competing at the position. The Montgomery, Ala., native is coming off a senior season where he accounted for 20 touchdowns on 102 touches in nine games. With his mixture of speed and athleticism, Ruggs will not only compete with the Tide’s already-deep group of wide receivers, but he should also be in the mix to return kickoffs and punts as a true freshman.

Phidarian Mathis -- 4-star DT

Listed as Phil by Alabama in its National Signing Day release, the Monroe, La., native could fill a need for depth along the Crimson Tide’s defensive line this fall. While Da'Ron Payne will be the starting nose tackle in nickel and dime, the spot behind him in the rotation should be open for competition this offseason. As one of 14 Top100 players to sign with UA, Mathis should push his veteran teammates this fall following a senior year that saw him register 41 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks and six quarterback hurries at Neville (La.) High School.

Joseph Bulovas -- 3-star K

Bulovas was one of two players to accept a blueshirt offer, but the nation’s No. 7-ranked kicker, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, will come in and compete right away for the starting placekicker job. His competition will likely be senior punter JK Scott, who made three of his four field goal attempts on A-Day, but Nick Saban said he’s comfortable with a two-person approach to field goals like past year. Whether that happens or not, Bulovas will be in the mix from the very moment he steps on campus, now that Adam Griffith is gone.

I hope this kid is decent.
