Sherrer probably won’t be at UGA long regardless. He’ll get a big DC job soon if not the Southern HC job.

Thinking it's Sherrer, although Mel would not surprise me either. We'll need someone to recruit S. Ga. if Sherrer.
Eta- Mel will get a job. Think Schumann gets DC when Mel's gone. Sherrer has to think the same, but either way, he deserves coordinator money.

Why would Mel go to Statesboro Ga. and take a pay cut to coach a team that hasnt won a game this year? They will hire a triple option OC out of somewhere. Probably Army/Navy. JMHO.

Don't think I said he would. I wouldn't for a raise.

If they are going that route, then Brian Bohannon from Kennesaw State will be the HC. 18-9 as HC since they started the program. WR at Georgia, then coached under Paul Johnson at Southern, Navy, and Tech.

Georgia Southern is a mess right now. Their AD is cheap. Their roster is not good. They will likely to 0-12 this year, and yet whoever they hire will be expected to win 8+ games quickly. Not to mention the weird fixation they have with the triple option.
For fast risers in the coaching world like Mel and Dell, it wouldn't be a good job to take and certainly wouldn't set them up for a move to a bigger school.
I think it's inevitable that we see some staff take promotions elsewhere after this season, but I'll be surprised if any of our guys make a lateral move pay wise to jump into that cesspool

GT, Army, Navy. and GSU have this coaching circle %&*# thing going on. When Fish Fry is gone one of the service academy guys will back fill him. Then the GSU guy (whoever they hire) moves up to the academy. Im guessing Monken has an OC that would go to the Boro and pay his dues. They should have kept the last guy (paid the man) they had. Heck he beat UF and almost beat us.

Does KSU run the option because that's Bohannon's jam, or is it out of necessity, since they're only in their 3rd season and Triple Option is a viable way to overcome a lack of quality players in recruiting?

I thought he was supposed to be leaning towards Auburn. Not that I'm complaining by any stretch, but I'd love for him to suit up in Athens.

I hope so.....he has spent an awful lot of time at Auburn, though. I would say they are in the lead.

Dont know anything about them other than Bohannon. I'd imagine it would be easier to start a program with the triple option since its become a gimmick offense.
