Is it just me, or is this the worst recruitment year in almost a decade?
No excitement. No high profile commits. Just meh.
Feels like we are turning into Tennessee

Should take off come fall, assuming we don't crap the bed. I think we will close very strong in this class, recruits just need to see our offense.

Think that's a bit of an overreaction. We typically go through cycles where it feels like everyone is gonna sign with us then no one is. I suspect by start of the season we will have a better feel of how things stand. Also more than usual the success of this season will have a big impact on recruiting. We are getting hammered on the trail about Malzahn not being here next year. We saw the affects of that last year as well. Bottom line is if we win and do so with a bit more balance on offense we will get another top 10 class

I say this every year but top recruits are waiting longer and longer to commit and schools that recruit well don't necessarily mind it. Gives coaches longer to evaluate athletes, especially for these summer camps.
Anyhow,
Bama has 4 commitments, Stanford 4, UGA 6, USC 7, and so on. This is more usual for Auburn than those schools but you see it happen more frequently than ever these days for top schools. Seemed like UF had about 5 commitments before NSD last year.
There's other factors too. New offense and new coaches combined with coaches we've had for a long time that are comfortable finalizing their position class on NSD eve.
It's definitely a "meh" time a of year to follow recruiting, though, and the lack of excitement or frustration over commitments seems fair, IMO. Should be interesting to see how this class shakes out
