quote:I'm not to this point yet. No AU Source has said or given the impression of feeling good on us getting Jackson. The Dawgnation article is more positive than what I've seen from any AU source TBH.
If we do in fact get Fields...then Jackson becomes SUPER likely

ots of talent on paper but not much production yet. Need Kyle Davis and NCM to have big years on the field before anyone believes there's talent there
Sure, but his comment was about the depth chart. We got plenty of talented bodies even if they don't have experience.

In a nutshell ...
-Love the Q. Monday commitment. Long arms, lean. Can do a lot of things. Once he packs on weight, could be a menace at safety.
-Think AU is team to beat (for now) with 4-star DT Coynis Miller.
-Think WR Matthew Hill, LB Michael Harris or even Buck Richard Jibunor could be next to commit.
-Think if AU lands 5-star QB Justin Fields, it could help with other recruits. Have had a few (they asked me not to mention their names) tell me it would impact.
-Auburn is in a dogfight with S. Carolina for 4-star OT Dylan Wonnum. Brother plays for the Gamecocks. But the Tigers are in it.
-Think the Tigers finally have some momentum and really believe they'll have double-digit commits by the end of July.
-With Monday on board, think the safety to watch now is Jamien Sherwood of Florida. He'll likely visit next weekend.
-While Georgia is the clear leader for elite RB James Cook, the fact he plans to visit AU this month certainly is interesting. Maybe it's not entirely over just yet.
This is summary of KN's facebook live chat today

Also KN emphasized that apparently Garner is the main reason we might be leading for Miller. He's his area and position recruiting and the two are really close. KN says they interact a ton and it means a lot to Coynis
Gonna be a wild next few weeks

Why hard-hitting safety Quindarious Monday chose Auburn over Clemson (AL.com)
quote:
Quindarious Monday's plan was in motion. The four-star safety from Atlanta was going to give Clemson a verbal commitment on July 21.
Tuesday's visit to Auburn changed everything and helped the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Monday remember why Auburn was his longtime leader. He committed to Auburn on Tuesday during his visit.
"I've always loved Auburn," Monday told AL.com Wednesday. "It's one of the schools I really liked. Sitting down, when I went to the visit and talked to (defensive coordinator) Coach (Kevin) Steele, he changed my commitment and everything, with how Auburn was and how they run their defense. I feel like when I'm at Auburn, I'm at home. I feel like I can get down there and fit right in.
"I was going to commit to Clemson on the 21st. Auburn changed my mind."
There was no magic touch, Monday said. The visit and his relationship with Steele and the rest of the coaching staff just reinforced why Monday long had Auburn on top.
"They're going to tell you what you need to hear and what's really going on," Monday said. "I like how they kept it real like that."
Monday is Auburn's eighth pledge and its first true safety commit for this class. Cordova athlete Kolbi Fuqua could start out on defense, though.
"I fit right in with the defense," Monday said. "Coach Steele told me he hasn't had a safety that can do everything like I can."
A few more notes on Monday:
- His nickname is "Smoke," and here's how he got it: "When I was little, I used to run all the time. I was real fast, so my granddad started calling me 'Smoke.'"
- Monday says he is 100 percent committed to Auburn and plans to sign and graduate in December but also is still open to other visits.
- Monday changed his last name from Hale last year to have the same last name as his father.

Hate that Gus is at Media Days while Fields is throwing with Hill and Jackson.

Hopefully not to Clemson.

Really good read on Fields from ESPN. Just posting the link so Paw can paste the article later if he sees something that's bold worthy.

Just a heads up gonna be traveling to visit family for the next week starting today so if I am slow to update or not posting much that's why. I fully suspect everyone to commit because of it

According to Gus, Carlito Gonazalez still has one class to complete before getting on campus. He seemed confident he will but man if he doesn't that's really gonna suck for safety depth

like I said, JaTarvious Whitlow getting a shot at RB. I knew that'd be his best fit. Think he's going to be really good there.

absolutely. His build and skillset are perfect for RB.
On another note, I hate this stupid NCAA rule about not being able to recruit players from schools where you've hired a coach. Apparently that also applies to coaches who help out at camps. One of my good buddies who coaches in FL has worked the QB camp for the past several years and isn't this year because of that rule. Pretty ghey....

Gatewood is visiting Sunday through Tuesday

quote:Yup. It's a stupid rule. Getting a coach may help get a recruit but there's nothing shady about it. All the coach who move up from high school are successful & deserved it on their own merits.
