Tennessee is no longer an upper echelon program

It pains me to say this but it's the truth. We now have went almost 10 yrs without an SEC East Title, almost 20 for an SEC Title. The difference with TN and the other elite programs is their acceptance of mediocrity. Hiring Dooley, now Butch and then not firing Butch after it's very apparent he's fricking retarded, and has no clue how to be a good coach. Bama, Florida, Auburn, and LSU would have fired Butch by now but we sit around and let this snake oil salesman give us cliche after cliche and never owns up to his short fallings. Butch will never make us an elite program and not firing him now will set us back even more.

Tennessee and Georgia need to do the same thing. Clean house from top to bottom. Changing coaches won't fix the problems.

Unfortunately Missouri and Arkansas are the SEC's Butabi brothers. They ain't getting in the club.

Neither is Nebraska or notre dame. The sooner you come to terms with your future the easier it is to be excited by 8-4/9-3 seasons.

I wish I could say different but you are right. Until they clean house and bring in a different administration, we'll be average at best.

It will probably be harder to be upper echelon with how much more competitive it is across the board. At least you were upper echelon for quite a while. As they say, better to have been upper echelon and lost it than to never have been upper echelon at all.
