My apologies if this has been covered.

I think their 2016 campaign will be the best ever. I would easily put them over 2001 Miami, 2004 USC, 2005 Texas, 1995 Nebraska.

My top ten would be:

1. 2016 Alabama
2. 1995 Nebraska
3. 2001 Miami
4. 2005 Texas
5. 2004 USC
6. 1971 Nebraska
7. 1974 Oklahoma
8. 1979 Alabama
9. 2011 Alabama (even with the 1 loss)
10. 1972 USC

If you think any team in CFB history even comes close to this team, you're delusional.

so your basis for crowning them the best ever comes simply from the schedules allowing more games than any of those other teams?

Brilliant.

'95 Nebraska?
Nope
That team was the most dominant team ever.

Lets get to 11-0 before discussing 15-0.

10. 1972 USC

This may be the best all-time list I've ever seen and I agree with it.

You could also make a case for the 1983 Nebraska team. I know they lost the Orange Bowl but that team did not have a weakness. 1994 PSU is up there as well. That may have been the most complete offense I ever saw. You could almost count on one hand how many times their offense had drives that didn't turn into points.

That 1972 SC team you mentioned is often overlooked but I believe they won all games by at least 24 points except one. It was John McKay's masterpiece.

Sam Bam and John Grant. JK MCKay, Mike Rae, Lynn Swann

And yes 1968 Ohio State led by Rex Kern. i think teams just finally forfeited about half way through the year. Nobody was gonna beat the Buckeyes.

This is Saban's 4th best team, IMO. 2009, 2011 and 2012 were all better. Though, an argument can be made against 2009.

No 92 Bama? interesting. That defense is one of the best I have ever seen. They would give 2016 Bama all they could handle, game might end 0-0.

Nah...quite frankly our 05 team should've boat raced that UT squad. That game still makes me sick.

I wouldn't put this Bama team as the best ever, I wouldn't even consider them to be Sabans best. The defense is an all timer, but Hurts has limitations as a passer and this isn't his best Oline either. I think Hurts would struggle against athletic secondaries like 01 Miami.

I think our 2011 team would beat this team.

Warren St John wrote a book on the 1999 season and talked about Bama having to beat the opponents in front of them, as well as the ghosts of Bama teams past.

Sounds like a good/weird problem to have.

LSU's debate?

2003 or 2007, with an occasional 2011 thrown in.

Regardless of their schedule, the red team will have run the SEC gauntlet while generating a fair amount of 'quality' points.

Also, they will have had wins against USCw, LSU, and (take your pick) tOSU, MI, Lousiville, Clemson, or Washington.

That will be pretty damn impressive in most peoples books.
