The point is there are a few teams in college ball today that could give Bama all they want. And I don't care how many Bama fans think they would roll Michigan because of their "pro style." Harbaugh coached in the NFL with a run-first QB, the anti-American Kaepernick. He took them to a Super Bowl with a quarterback who didn't fit his system. He led Stanford to an upset over a Trojan team that was favored by 41 points over his team. And that was with a Stanford team that wasn't nearly as good as the teams they get there now (minus this year). But the Gumps would have you think that UM couldn't hang these days? Also let it be noted that the USCw team he beat had NFL talent all over the field and Cheat Carroll was loaded on the defensive side of the ball. Michigan would beat you, Louisville, Clemson, OSU and Washington would hang in with you. Don't flatter yourselves, Gumps.

It's pretty much everyone against the Gumps. Care to guess which side is the delusional fan base in denial?

Your argument is silly. Just because they couldn't play in the NFL into their 40's doesn't mean they wouldn't have been good enough in 2001 to compete with this Bama team. A bunch of those guys had long NFL careers. They would have certainly been able to keep up with this Alabama team.

It's not debatable. I spent 6 years in collegiate strength and conditioning. Athletes today > athletes a decade or more ago

Now add in scheme changes and the Miami team would have no idea wtf they were doing against top spread teams of today. Meanwhile they were running a standard pro style offense which just about any Nick Saban defense since 09 would roll their eyes at.

Running outdated schemes against superior athletes? Just no.

It's obvious if you pay attention. Guys are lifting more now than ever, and we continue to learn more about training (for football and strength sports) all the time.

It's like comparing strong men of today to those of 20 years ago. The events today require lifting a lot more weight than they were back then. Maybe that's a bad example, but...

Point is, training is better and in turn players are further ahead physically.

Unless you spent those 6 years 10 years apart, I'm not really sure what your point is.

Maybe, but 2001 Miami would get rolled by 95 Nebraska.

I want your thoughts on this scenario below...

Let's say Bama and Michigan both keep blowing everyone out and both finish 13-0. Then, they face each other in the semi finals. Remember, neither team has a close game from now to the end of the regular season.

Bama blows them out, let's say by a score of 42-16. Bama wins by 26 and physically dominates Michigan.

What will you believe/think/say then?

I agree though on Harbaugh, he is a elite coach who plays a physical brand of football. I enjoy watching his team's play, and I would love a Saban vs Harbaugh semi final. For the challenge and for the match ups.

2001 Miami wasn't even the best of the Miami teams throughout the years. He only says that because he was there at the time. They beat up on a Nebraska team who got destroyed in the Big 12 championship game by Colorado for crying out loud

Colorado was the hottest team in the country at the end of that season. They hammered Nebraska and hammered Texas in the Big 12 title game before Texas made a second half rally and make the score look respectable. Colorado should have been in the title game last year.....and would have been slaughtered.

The athletes today are better than they were when I first started, and that was back in 06...let alone 01.

Advancement in training and technology is creating better athletes. It's not speculation. It's actual science dipshit lol

This years Bama team wouldn't win the SEC in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013. Hard to say that would match up with an all-time great team starting a QB who struggles throwing.

Alabama was never in danger of losing Saturday night.
If the game lasted 24 quarters, LSU was not scoring.

Chad Kelly lit that arse up.. again

DW4 will do the same.. Mike Williams and Cain will be playing this time

This is the best team Saban's had. So there's that.

I would tip my hat to Bama and say "Wow! Great fricking game" Because I'm not a sore loser like a lot of these posters on here. But just like you are confident in Bama, I'm pretty confident in saying that Michigan would win the game. I know, I know... Bama rolled Michigan in 2012. They were coached by Brady Hoke. Talk about out of his league. Bama would not beat Michigan by 26. If they did, then you can gloat all you want.

You're insane

This is easily the least talented offense Bama has fielded in years.

I would not be a sore loser if Michigan won.
