If Gus manages to lose this game, which we should be very well positioned to win and which is crucial to turning this season into a positive, it'll be a very big hit to the collective confidence that he's right for the job.
Things happen, so if we throw a pick six to lose it or Arky balls out - that's not what I'm talking about. But weird personnel decisions, team coming out flat, stuff like that.
I don't want to elevate this too much, but this is just the type of game he has to win if he's going to keep growing into the job and winning the fanbase back.

Good post, I agree completely. I like Gus and I hate the line of thinking around football now that if your coach starts losing get rid of him, especially when he's youngish as compared to his peers like Gus. Sticking with a coach and letting him grow into the job like you said is how you end up with Joe Paterno, Bobby Bowden, Frank Beamer stability.
