Too bad that they didn't use losing to clemson in 2012 for motivation.

Or getting absolutely demolished by Texas A&M in Auburn in 2012 for motivation.

No, now's the time when they really cared. So they reached back to years when they were in high school and remembered Auburn losing every SEC game to finally get motivation for fricking Mississippi State.

Plausible situation Joey: SEC network previews AU-MSU. Booger makes reference "Fun fact guys, you know Auburn is 1-7 in its last SEC games before noon? Just saying - watch out!" Marcus Davis is watching said preview, picks up phone, calls Gus..."Hey coach I just heard this, I got an idea to make sure it doesn't t happen again,......"

I think you are trying waaaay to hard to make this into a fallacy. We don't know the catalyst but we sure do know the reaction which was an arse whoopin.

such a trash argument from a usually good poster.

Gus Malzahn pretty much confirmed this whole story in the OP and you're sitting here trying to deny it. It's sad really. You can admit you're wrong sometimes. It's ok.
