Yeah, and plenty of those "top 10 QB recruits" ended up as busts. It is what it is.

And you know what really helps QBs and RBs be productive? A good O line, which we didn't recruit so well over the last 10 years.

I don't ever really remember us having a dominant Oline...we've had bits and pieces through the years but never a complete Oline

.the wheels were set in motion about 5 years ago when we go 6-7 and do not fire Richt.

This is true. Richt should have been fired at that point. Instead, he was allowed to continue on with his apathetic "close but no cigar" regime.

Ironically, Richt is the one who got the best deal out of all of this. He got to stay on and keep collecting $4M a year and left a shite hole of bad offensive line recruiting and many great players going out state.

Now Richt gets to enjoy sunny Miami and got Kaaya to start.

Smart inherits second tier talent at several positions...and has to suffer through a season with a raw freshman QB.

You're a long way from Tuscaloosa now Kirby....

Man...it's sad when a sack and a pick causes me to scratch my balls instead of even Crack a smile....this team is a huge disappointment in terms of fight

Recruiting rankings don't mean shite and when you are 8th in the nation and 7th in the conference this is what you get

A LOOOONNNNGGGGGGG way from Tuscaloosa.....Smart waited a long time to become a head coach and he has stepped into a huge pile of shite. It very well could be that Richts lack of recruiting needs could cost Smarts entire head coaching career.....our failure to try to compete the last few years has created a situation where we are on the brink of complete irrelevance

Herrien needs to get more carries the rest of the year. He's looked impressive in every game he's played in.

Hard to say. I've rolled my ankle like that and been hobbled for a month, but never went to the doc either
