Do they have a massive OL again this year?

How does the running game look compared to the last 2-3 seasons?

How is the defense?

1. the biggest EVER

2. Running game is literally unstoppable. Don't even try.

3. Have you ever ran head first into a brick wall? That's the Hogs defense.

big ol, yes- not performing just great overall yet.

running game- not bad, but needs improvement for sure.

defense seems to be better- pass coverage is better which has been our biggest Achilles heel.

Still big. Skipper is still there. I feel like he's been there for 5 seasons now.

Not as good. The splits of pas to run are similar to previous years, they just aren't as effective. It probably hurts losing 2 studs to the league.

They looked elite vs TX State, but struggled a little vs TCU.

RWIII has looked pretty good through 3 games, Devawah Whaley should start seeing touches going forward...Explosive kid. None proven like Collins was

Pretty good front 7, Secondary is coming around. Seem to play better in man coverage then in a zone

Oline isn't the biggest in football anymore.

Oline and the run game is getting better and better and we've had good rushing the past two games as the oline is coming together. Our Oline wasn't great at the run game last year and we lost collins. We've slowly worked in our new Freshman phenom but it's a slow go due to pass protection with him and our game is run with play action so he's got to step up.

Our D is light years ahead of where we were a year ago, Front 7 is dynamite with depth. Yes Trill ran for 93 and that's because they were in catch up mode, they spread the field and he was running for his life. We'll see this weekend how much containment improved.

Our passing offense hasn't missed a beat and we drove the field, scored and got the 2pt conversion in 90 sec to tie the TCU game, so there's some confidence early vs last year.

Not the biggest in the sport of football like we did last year, which is good because it saves us the inevitable graphic ESPN touted in every. single. game. the last two years.

The OL is huge. They are shipping each one to Arlington on his own flatbed truck.

This summer a group of sumo wresting agents were in NEA to find the secret of weight gain.

They were really interested in the coach.

Players not so much.

One thing people seem to be forgetting is that we have always struggled at the beginning of the year getting the Oline and running game together. This year has probably been the best in the last three years to this point. Still some issues to work out but they will continue to improve.

They're big, but not super experienced; we're still shuffling the lineup, vacillating between putting the best 5 on the field, and putting the 5 that can be the best at the end of the year. Thankfully Ragnow can play anywhere, which has allowed us to be flexible around him on the interior, and Skipper has been an anchor at LT. This is kind of a patchwork year-- the talent is there, but much of it is inexperienced; its how a senior transfer from Texas has come in and played so much right away. The stability offered is pretty important.

The running game is a work in progress. We severely miss Collins, in that he had the skill to read, cut, and go. RW3 is a more physical runner like Johnathan Williams before him, but isn't even nearly in the same league as Collins at making that one unaccounted for guy, miss. He's not as much a big play threat as Johnathan Williams, but he is a reliable fall-forward type guy, with enough speed and ability to grind out 100 yard games.

Whaley is our home run guy, but he's still putting it together. He needs reps and opportunity, and is lost as a pass blocker-- but, at some point this year he's going to piss off two SEC teams-- one that he beats nearly singlehandedly on big plays, and Arkansas for a crushing freshman mistake.

Kody Walker is Walker. Too big to be much more than a short yardage grinder/hammer. The fullback is a work in progress, since we've moved Walker back to TB-- the run blocking has a long way to go, but he may be the best receiver out of the backfield we've had since Hillis.

The defense is pretty good. Think of them as being where they were the month before the LSU/OM shutouts of a couple years ago-- for the first time since joining the SEC, we actually have a two deep of SEC linebackers, and a starting set that actually lives up to that billing-- before we've hoped we had that depth, and invariably had someone get hurt or be a big letdown.

The secondary is a little thin. Pulley's emergence as a corner is going to say a lot about the ultimate record of this team. They're slightly better at forcing turnovers, and notably better at limiting YAC.

The defense will get gassed, if the running game doesn't pick it up a little. Instead of 2 or 3 game-grinding drives that eat up long periods and give the defense extended regrouping time, they're much spottier this year, mostly due to inconsistency in the run game.

Overall, it is still a work in progress, but appears to be a better baseline than in the past.
