A good one for Georgia is Todd Gurleys kick return vs Auburn in 2014. He just returned from suspension and it was the first time he touched the ball, I think.

George Teague running down and taking the ball away from Lamar Thomas in the 1992 National Championship game.

There was one against South Carolina I believe gurley ran it all the way and they called it back on some phantom holding or something. I remember rewinding it and watching every player and couldn't find anyone close to holding.

For Arkansas it's basically the entire fourth quarter of the 2009 Florida game.

This year against Syracuse. LF broke like an 80 yard run that was negated. Would've put him over 2000.

Kind of on the flip side...famous plays where there were penalties that didn't count...on both of The Kicks...Auburn was offsides on Van Tiffin's game winning FG, and Tennessee roughed Philip Doyle on his.

Well we (USC) had a 90 yard td pass play to Cooper with 30 seconds left last year which wouldve won us the Citadel game. It was a bogus call and the rest is history

Hail Mary in the final seconds for the apparent winning touchdown against Vanderbilt in 1990. Offensive pass interference.

I got one that was in a better time. Connor Shaw's 80 yard touchdown sprint against Mizzou in 2012 wiped out by a chop block. That being the same game he went 20-21 through the air.

Not exactly a penalty, but I think this one applies.

Old Barners like myself will never forget this.

For those who don't follow links, in the 4th quarter of the '74 Iron Bowl, as AU trailed Bama 17-7, Phil Gargis hit Thom Gossom on a perfectly executed sideline route for a 41-yard TD...until the back judge 30 yards away from the play determined (after a brief discussion with Paul W. Bryant) that Gossom's foot touched the line a split second before making the catch. No TD, meaning AU's score later in the period wasn't enough to upset the undefeated Tide.

As familiar as I was with the incident, I'd never heard Gossom tell this part of the story, which bears repeating:
quote:

The Alabama cheerleaders were lined up across the end zone. In an unplanned act of spontaneity, I looked to the Alabama cheerleaders, spiked the ball, and pointed to them and said ‘frick Alabama.’

Not sure if best but certainly pivotal. 1993 Peach vs North Carolina. Leading 14-0, we had 2 touchdowns called back due to penalties in the 2nd quarter. So what should have been a 28-0 lead at halftime was a 14-0 lead. We managed only a field goal in the 2nd half. NC opened the 2nd half with a long TD drive. We lost 21-17.
