so looking at those numbers, the difference seems to be each school's all-time record against Alabama

Good stuff
Crazy how much of a whipping boy Tennessee has become for the other Big 6 schools this century.
I remember reading an article a couple years ago about all-time SOS. This was for all CFB, not just SEC teams. It was measured by number of games against teams that are all-time top 25 programs. Auburn and Georgia were the top 2, and no other team in CFB even came close. There really was a significant separation between AU, UGA, and the team in 3rd place.
Because of that I'm surprised to see Georgia in 3rd on the all-time games played list, and a full 30 games behind AU. I guess they make up for it OOC.
I've tried recently to hunt down that article (or list if it's something that is updated) to no avail. If anybody is interested and can find it, please link it here. I would love to use it for a comparison I'm doing of just how close the DSOR is.

Before the SEC was split into divisions scheduling was left more to the school's than the conference and every team had several annual rivals.
Auburn's annual rivals were Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida.
Alabama annually played Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State
Auburn went decade long stretches without playing Vanderbilt or Ole Miss.
Alabama went decade long stretches without playing Georgia or Florida
Even after the SEC split into divisions, for the first 10 years from 92-02 each team had two permanent cross-division rivals.
-Auburn's two were Georgia, and Florida
-Alabama's two were Tennessee... and Vandy
Now I know you weren't aware of any of this because it happened before 2008.... But 100+ years of that type of annual scheduling really adds up

Tennessee was 12-17 vs. the other Big 6 schools from 2000-2006.
Since 2006, the only other big 6 school we've beaten was UGA, 3 times.

LSU is the best team from 2000 on confirmed.

yep. LSU's were Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Florida. When they had two permanents they were Florida and Kentucky. LSU also has played Arkansas 61 times all-time, which is a lot considering they weren't in the SEC for 37 of those games. LSU has also played Tulane 55 times when they were members of the same conference.

You're referring to the College Football Data Warehouse listing. For years Georgia, Auburn, and LSU had far and away the best strength of schedules among all SEC schools. However, Bama's all-time SOS has skyrocketed just over the last several years, apparently thanks to Saban earning two to three additional tough games to play every postseason (SEC Championship Game, plus BCS or CFP games). I think Bama passed LSU's all-time SOS recently and will pass Auburn too after this season: LINK.

Wait, what about the decades without an Iron Bowl because of some Yellowhammer State butthurt?

Dude... dude. I'm going to refer you to the OP of the very thread in which you are posting, in which it is clearly stated that Alabama has played the second-most number of games against Big Six schools all-time. I know it is a standard Auburn talking point that Bama has built their history on games against Vanderbilt and Ole Miss while your stalwart Tigers have only ever played top-tier opponents, but at least try to pretend that you know what a fact is.

Fair point--the Big Six has had a changing membership roster over the years. Auburn didn't pass Tulane's number of SEC titles until 1988 or Ole Miss' number of SEC titles until 2010. Florida didn't pass Tulane until 1995 or Ole Miss until 2006. Bama and LSU are to be commended for having the courage to schedule Tulane and Ole Miss in the SEC's earlier years while other SEC schools dodged Tulane and Ole Miss and instead padded their win totals by scheduling Auburn and Florida.

Interesting but worthless stat. Let us all enjoy when only white guys played and the big boys weighed 230 and played both ways. Also apparently it is all time which means @40 years before the SEC even started.
