Sorry to see this, he was a very objective reporter. RIP.
I wonder who'll be introducing Bill Hancock to present the 2016 CFP NC to Nick in January.

said indeed. I followed him on twitter for a while. Had to remove him as he started posting too much political stuff for my liking.

He kinda overdid it with too, but it is terribly sad that one minutes he's doing great...the next minute he drop dead from PE or brain aneurysm.

You know, that's actually really cool to have had your squad be the last championship one he was on the podium with Especially if you liked him as a person.
I kind of have the same feels when it comes to Stuart Scott helping present the Spurs with their trophy after his last NBA Finals:

Lots of sports talking heads are into the whole shock-jock, click bait type of reporting; Saunders had dignity and was a great one.
Exactly. We're in an era where most seem to carve out their space by being loud or controversial or just an idiotic troll (Cowherd), but John stood out by being classy.

Awful.
Like many of you, I too enjoyed his professionalism and was sorry to read that he battled the same mental illness demons that so many others face as well.
Here's hoping his family finds a peace that passes understanding.

Saunders had publicly discussed his battles with depression.
Saunders recently co-wrote a book with John U. Bacon, Playing Hurt: My Journey from Despair to Hope, about his battles with depression. It is set for release in April 2017.
According to the description of the book, Saunders “confesses his constant battle with depression and how it nearly cost him his life.” The book, “welcomes readers into the heart of his desperate struggle against depression: from insights into the illness’s root causes to the nature of modern treatments, from both a medical and cultural perspective. His story unfolds as so many of our lives do – among family, friends and colleagues – but it also peers into places we don’t often discuss openly – psych wards and hospitals. Here is the honest story of a public figure facing his own mental illness headon.
