The ratings system is flawed. Hence why you see me bring up Joshua Jacobs being a great back rated lowly and somee posters not wanting him because of his star rating instead of seeing his ability on film.

I was rated lowly when I came out. I didn't go to camps and was relatively unknown till my summer junior year.

My Godbrothers on the other hand went to all the camps, got a lot of exposure and most importantly spent the money for these camps which these recruiting sites usually favor those players who camp/spend with them.

One was rated very high, the other medium.

Wish him the best. Great news for us from a chemistry stand point. Losing depth to preserve great chemistry, I will take that trade all day.

I hope as well. I wonder if our staff had anything to do with KS going there.

if you would have seen Hurts it would be a no brainier. He is absolutely electric. It's hard to describe how cool he was in the pocket, no panic.

Most of the praise of Hurts concerns his skill after the ball is snapped.

I've read that Saban cares almost as much what a qb does before the snap in terms of
- getting the call right
- getting folks lined up
- quickly fixing it when guys line up wrong

Do you have any insight into how Hurts has progressed in his before-the-snap duties?

All he needs to know is how to say, "hand me the ball and watch what I do wit it."

Didn't he go to Saban and say, "look bitch, stop yelling at me for not blocking. I was never asked to block in HS and it's gonna take time my man."

CrimsonBoz, you're around the situation, if Jalen hurts is the best quarterback we have, will Nick Saban have the guts to start him?

If Saban starts Hurts I'm expecting Godmode level play.

For Saban to not go with the upperclassman or the 5-star sophomore?

That kid has to be out of this world and we are beyond lucky to have him.

I'm at the point now where I'll be a little pissed if Jalen Hurts doesn't start.ive not seen 1 practice snap, but WAY 2 many insiders are hearing good stuff about him. Add that to the fact that I saw Cooper Bateman play 6 times last season, and I thought he was awful.....just awful.

Here's my current situation and what I would do if they win the job...

Jalen Hurts: I'd be happy as hell, it seems like we have something special there...and we would get it for 3-4 seasons.

Blake Barnett: I could live with this, and I'd be on-board.

Cooper Bateman: I'd be a little worried About the team, because I just don't see how that horrible QB I saw play last year could possibly be the best option we have

I wish someone would show me what evidence supports the notion that Saban doesn't play the people he thinks will give Bama the best chance to win?

He's consistently started freshmen at every other position on the field when they've proven themselves to be the best player. To date there hasn't been a freshman quarterback that met that criteria, but there's not one shred of evidence to suggest that the same rule wouldn't apply to that position.

And as far as questioning his guts? Really?

IMO, the guy that will call an onsides kick with the national title game tied in the 4th quarter has shown he's got the guts to do just about anything.
