Bama and LSU have the deepest talent in the secondary IMO.

Florida is easily #3, beyond that it's a toss up

Where is all this talent LSU has? Adams is talented, but showed little to no improvement from his freshman year. White has alot of experience, but talented 3 year starters don't return to school. Toliver was decent, but not on the level of the Bama freshman. Ricky Jefferson might be the worst scholarship DB at any Big 6 school.

LSU hasn't had an elite secondary since Cooper left.

Bama's secondary fell off when Pruitt left, but last year Mel Tucker and an influx talented freshman recaptured the crown. Pruitt is back and the talent in the secondary is better than its ever ever been.

Come on George you better than that. Our D line was so thin and lacking talent. A secondary is only as good as their D line.

LSU, Alabama and Florida. Put them in any order you wish.

Playing zone under Steele. This year they'll be playing more man under Aranda.

Its clearly going to be bama. Jackson is the best safety in the league, and harrison, humphrey, fitzpatrick are all elite talents. We were already the second best secondary last year despite everyone trying to throw because they couldn't run, we return almost everybody, we have the most talent, and pruitt coached defenses excel in the secondary (he took georgia pass D from bad to top 10 in 2 seasons)

Last year for LSU had a lot more to do with scheme. Not the players, returning white is huge, no matter how you want to spin that. Also were playing two true frosh at corner at times last year. They are both a year older.

Now, I'm just hoping Aranda puts these guys in position to make plays.

You are also wrong about Jefferson. He could have had his pick of schools, bama included.

Top 5 dumbest thing I've ever seen on this site. Is Ricky Jefferson good in coverage? Not really. Hes an in the box safety and can play the run.

As far as the question of who has the best secondary: as a unit I think Bama has the best secondary. As a fielded unit. I think LSU has more talent but doesn't have the coaching to back it up. Steele fricked us last year. Now that Aranda is here then I'm sure we will make a jump. LSU has 5 star corners sitting on the bench. So they have the talent, if you question that then you're not being real with yourself.

So on the field, based off of last season, I think Bama has the more effective secondary. I think LSU has more raw talent in the secondary and just doesn't get the type of coaching that is at Bama. That fair? I'm sure a couple Bama guys will come in and say they're deeper than us when it comes to talent but I just really don't think that's the case.

Those stats are pretty empty.

As Iron Puppet pointed out...nobody in the SEC played a lot of great passing teams. Not saying we were great by any stretch, and losing our top two pass rushers will certainly hurt. Nobody is saying we should be in top 3 consideration. My complaint was a fan of a team that finished 63rd in the nation trying to throw shade on us. His big proof we were not any good? We played in the SEC....the same conference his team played in.

Reading comprehension! They said they were being overlooked THIS YEAR, mainly due to experience, Heath and influx of new talent.

Oh, PLEASE. They were upset because Auburn wasn't in the conversation. Why else would they say it?

And yet Georgia has more experience, and brought in higher rated players and you want to dismiss us. Don't twist what you know to be the truth. Every time you say something I show where you are wrong and then you want to change to a different subject.
