It was half a gram, and the incident report says nothing about them smoking. It sells he detected a "strong odor", but mentions no ash, residue, pipes, bongs, rolling papers, or anything else that indicates that they had just smoked. He found half a gram of unburned weed in a bag, and that is the only noted source of the "strong odor".

I have no issue with the the guys getting off if it was appropriate, although the DA's reasoning was laughable. But Bama has no obligation to respect the DA's finding regarding their own punishment of the men and I think we all know there will be no meaningful punishment. I don't really care since Ole Miss will just beat them for the 3rd straight time, but I can see why LSU and Auburn fans are irritated. They take constant heat from Bama fans about their criminals and listen to the BS, cultish crap about Saban, the tight ship, etc. In the end, this will prove one thing, that very few if any of these coaches give a damn what these kids do unless they feel they have no choice but to get rid of them because of something that will cause an outcry they can't absorb. Vanderbilt would be the exception.

What did they say they were doing out there? Honestly curious. Were they just winding down from a day at the shooting range 8 hours earlier?
They both have parents houses with couches and tvs, bedrooms as well if they were just hanging out.
You go to a park at 3am to hook up or to get high. If they are lovers I apologize

As somebody who lives in Monroe I can tell you this is going terrible for the DA today. Like he might lose his job. His quote that "he didn't want to ruin the lives of two men who spent their adolescent years sweating outside when the rest of us were in the air conditioning" is not going over well. It's all over everything and social media is picking it and running with it. I'm not saying the players should have got in more trouble but that was a hilariously stupid thing to say. All kind of backlash is coming today and is already raining down ha.
Yeah - I get was he was trying to say but not the best way to phrase it. Give the appearance of favoritism to the athletes.

What difference does it make? It's not illegal to be out at 3:00 am so its irrelevant.
The drug aspect in all of this is b.s. It was less than a gram of marijuana and they weren't intoxicated.

I'm not talking about legally, I'm saying you are acting as if they weren't smoking
They got off congrats, you don't have to convince the rant they were going over bible studies. We all know they were smoking
My point is did Saban drug test them?
No, but it is to have drugs and firearms together. No matter how much you sweat growing up

I thought I was finished with you. I understand that you're desperately seeking relevance in your waning years. But do it somewhere else.

"it's 3am boys what are y'all doing out here? is that a pistol in your lap? Step out of the car"
"Looks like we have some marijuana and a second pistol not registered with either occupant of the vehicle"
"Did y'all play high school football, sweat a lot?"
Cam and hootie: "yes sir"
Officer: "to the best of your knowledge how much time did you spend in the AC growing up?"
Cam and hootie: "Not much sir, just the entire time we weren't at football practice or playing in the neighborhood with our buddies. You know like every other American kid that played a sport."
Officer: "alright well I'll let you off with a warning this time. 14&counting says It's not illegal to be out at 3am, and I don't see any papers even though it smells like weed in here so I don't know if you were actively smoking."
"You boys go find you some AC and have a good night"
^ how it should have gone down
I wonder how many people caught with drugs and firearms in Monroe had played a high school sport while the DA sat in the AC. I'd venture to say most honestly.

A half a gram of pot...less than the size of my thumbnail...they were not arrested for being intoxicated. The drug aspect in this case just doesn't fly. It's also not illegal to exercise your 2nd amendment rights just as it's not illegal to be out at 3:00 am.
The only troubling aspect was possession of a stolen handgun and has been explained time and time again, if he can prove he had no knowledge of it being stolen, then we were probably going to have this outcome.....particularly if the search was shaky.

What I've asked you 3 times now is did Saban drug test them? I know none of us know but that is the only troubling aspect to me
I don't care if the charges get dropped, I think it's funny but it doesn't bother me. What bothers me is acting like they weren't smoking at the park at 3am lol
You aren't their lawyer, and I'm not the prosecutor, don't give me this "it's not illegal to be out at 3am"
Someone mentioned tyran Matheiu being kicked off for self reported in house testing and I simply want to know if Saban tested them after this. And if he did will he even care to suspend them. For all we know they have failed multiple already
I honestly don't care if players smoke, but if my teams players are getting suspended and kicked out for non mandatory testing I want my rivals to at least face responsibility for being caught w weed and weapons while they were obviously high at some point near that time. They don't have weed to not smoke it, you think it was a "half" gram when they bought it ha

I don't know and its none of your damn business either...The criminal case is done and over because it was weak as shite to begin with.....Saban will handle it the way he sees fit. I will say that Robinson has never been in trouble ever before this so I imagine Saban is not going to derail the kid's career over it....Saban has kicked plenty of 5* studs off at Bama when they keep fricking up. You don't know all of the facts.
BTW: It came that Mathieau failed multiple, multiple drug tests and was arrested for dealing drugs. LSU gave Mathieau multiple breaks before his behavior forced Les Miles' hand...so quit acting holier than thou

How many failed drug tests before Mathieu was kicked off the team? By the sound of your post, it was only a couple, right? Maybe five at the most?
Posted on 6/21/16 at 9:57 am to chattabama
Nope, it was more than a couple. it was a couple when he was suspended in 2011. Was tested weekly after and couldn't get it together leading to dismissal.
Obviously these players got hooked up bc they are football players. Saying otherwise is ridiculous. I've already said I don't necessarily care
My issue is after all that if you don't even suspend them that is ridiculous
Matheiu was never arrested for dealing drugs. He was never in one incident while at LSU besides in house testing under miles
After tyrann had already been booted he was at a buddies house that got raided and there was weed there. Yes he was walked out in cuffs
And if what Saban does in house is none of my business then how much tyrann smoked is none of anyone else's and he should have kept playing. My point is miles tests and punishes star athletes for weed alone. Other programs you have no idea how much the coach tests or if he even releases results.
Here you clearly know two players were smoking bc they were caught by law enforcement with weed. Will Saban test and punish, we will see

I mean I haven't seen that LSU fans are particularly salty about it. The kids did what they did. Seems like the attention is being drawn more to the idiot DA that should have just kept his mouth shut.

Again we are talking a half gram of weed and no one was arrested for being intoxicated so you cannot draw the conclusion. For all we know, Cam was tested and passed.
Regarding Saban, Alabama, and weed, we comply with whatever NCAA policy dictates. As a practical matter, Saban is actually a pretty liberal guy with respect to weed and really doesn't give that much of a shite about it. What he doesn't want is a weed culture infecting the locker room as it affects discipline.
