Slive did a good job the last few years of reining in, and getting ahead of, the negative issues that we've seen this offseason. When he first came to the conference, we had worse things going on and the SEC's rep was shite.
The new guy will learn.

LSU has actually had more than just a budget crisis. They've had to indefinitely suspend a kid and are being sued by the old band director. I believe another former player was also indicted.

Mississippi St - Incoming recruit under investigation for assaulting a female
LSU - budget issues
Alabama - firing a longtime assistant for recruiting violations
Georgia - Multiple arrests, "Kirby's law"
Auburn - Relatively quiet until arrests this past weekend

We have two solid choices
06-07 - our head coach runs Gus Malzahn off to Tulsa and our fans FOIA our head coach. Parents of freshman meet during the year to discuss their concern over direction of the program, then these freshman leave the program
11-12 - our head coach is fired after crashing his bike with a student volleyball player he was banging that was hired over 200 other applicants and given 50k

Does Aaron Hernandez count as an SEC offseason debacle? Not sure any of the current shitstorms are as bad as homicide.

wonder how quickly he begins to change his tune when SEC schools start cherrypicking more kids from the Big10 footprint
The SEC elites like Alabama, LSU, And already cherry pick top tier prospects from Big10 country. Just like the Big10 elite like OSU and Michigan can pick up a couple of southern prospects: Not every year, but sporadically.
The camps will only really be relevant for the lower-tier, bottom feeders--borderline prospects in the Midwest will be more exposed to places like Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and South Carolina.
Schools similar to those, but from the Big10, like Purdue, Illinois and Rutgers will be more accessible to lower ranked prospects in the south.
