I agree. I think Cardwell could actually be a quality starter even if he is a clear drop-off from Kessler. Not sure I'm sold on Stretch getting the remaining minutes. That was our center rotation last year with a little JT Thor mixed in and it didn't fare very well. But a couple years can be a big difference.

JayWill can play the 5 in 2-3 minutes increments. Plus that could get Yohan and him on the court at the same time.

I agree with this. Kessler gets all the attention, but Cardwell was still one of the top shot blockers in the SEC. He has soft hands so he's good at catching lobs/passes off of drives. He doesn't have much offensive game other than that, but we didn't get much more offensive production from Kessler anyway.

Biggest issue for Cardwell would be fouls imo. Because he's such an emotional player and plays with so much energy.. He would end up in foul trouble in most games imo, which is why having a quality back up is important.

We had a game this year, I don't remember which, and Kessler and Cardwell we're both in foul trouble. I figured Bruce would put Strech in and try to buy some minutes... Nope. If Stretch didn't make it into that game then its clear the staff doesn't actually trust him in games. Same for Moore, With Devan and Flan playing as bad as they we're.. for Moore to still not get minutes tells you the coaches don't think he's good enough.
